How Do You Capitalize Your Titles?

So I found a tool that capitalizes titles for me.

Simple one

    I usually write my titles capitalized but when I need such conversions (from normal to capitalized, from lowercase to uppercase) I usually use convertcase.net - it does Sentence case, lower case, UPPER CASE, Capitalized Case, aLtErNaTiNg cAsE, Title Case, InVeRsE CaSe, and it has a few extra tools as well.

    I definitely missed something here...why is there a service that provides this function? Why is it better to use this service than just type it out how I want it to look?

      I hear you! I cannot imagine a practical application for this at all. I suppose some people decide it is easier to write in all lower case and then go back in later and fix it? Maybe they add all of the punctuation later, too. I just don't get it.

    I've used something similar on occasion.

    Why?

    The reason I turned to this is because Word would keep saying my titles were wrong. So I went on a search to find out how stupid I was.

    It turns out I've lost a lot of stored "data" since I last took an English class.

    From the site:
    • in: The Catcher in the Rye, but Give In to Me (adverb)
    • out: Fresh out the Oven, but School's Out Forever (adjective)
    • up: Crawling up a Hill, but Picking Up the Pieces (adverb)
    • but: Nothing but the Truth, but Life Is But a Dream (adverb)
    • a: Let's Make a Deal, but The A to Z of TV Gardening (noun)
    • by: Stand by Me, but Stand By for Action (adverb)
    These examples show that the approach to always lowercase in, on, by etc. in a title is inadequate and often leads to wrong results. This title case converter therefore uses more sophisticated methods and takes the context of each word into account to determine whether it should be capitalized or lowercased. This produces high-quality results, and all the examples mentioned above are handled correctly.
    So take THAT smart people!

      Apparently, you are trying to appeal to the 1/2% of people online that would know the difference. I know the search engines don't care!

      Oh, and I don't write in Word for websites. If you copy/paste from Word, it messes up your formatting and inserts a ton of completely unnecessary code.

        No, I just got tired of the red squiggly.

    Actually, the tool makes it easier to Capitalize. And it's not necessary that every word in the title needs capitalization.

    And I find it way easier to use it rather than doing it manually. The tool does it better, it knows which ones to capitalize. While I sometimes would capitalize every word in the title. Just like the one in this thread. It's a small thing but plays a good part.

    Quite easy, I didnt know google doc has such a reliable tool. I have for many years laboured to capitalize my work manually. Bu as from today, I will use the add-on and make my work better.
