Just want to say hello.

Hello everyone,

My name is Anthony. Absolute and complete newbie to all of this. I have a good job but would not mind expanding my income (who wouldn't?) and am trying to learn some ways to do it. Honestly not sure if IM is the best route for me. I have limited time after my "real" job is done and the learning curve seems very steep.

I will be hanging around, reading posts, checking out threads. You probably won't hear much from me yet, but eventually I hope to contribute something!

HI Anthony its a pleasure meeting you and welcome to Warrior forums. The best thing to do when first starting out is to gather some information and figure out what its going to take to start seeing results.

With all honesty you should pick something that interests you and go all out on it. The biggest trap people fall into is trying to go 10 different directions when they first start instead of focusing their efforts.

Hi Anthony. I'm not new but relatively new to posting. I've been soaking up all the knowledge on the forum and have only just started getting focused and taking action. Educate yourself as far as possible and just go for it.

    Hi Anthony,
I know the feeling and I am in the same position, but and here is the naked truth, without work there will be no payoff.

I have been the last few weeks on a 4 weeks course and I have learned a lot, if you want to know more then check out my blog.

I don't have much time myself and a demanding job, but I want to get into this and I am putting in the effort it requires and yes it sometimes means only 4 hours sleep to keep up on the training.

I hope that it helps you to decide. If you have questions, just let me know.

If you get on the stream and earn more than your day job, I doubt if you won't end up doing this full time! Well we all are busy, but that depends on your dedication and interest.

      Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I am more than willing to put in the time to learn a new skill set. Work ethic and learning have never been problems for me. I am just at such a beginning stage that I do not even know what I do not know. Literally starting from scratch, in the IM world. I don't even know what the options are yet!

Going to keep stopping by, reading threads, aking for bits of clarification here and there.

I do not want to fall into perpetual analysis either though.

Welcome to the Warrior Forum, Anthony. You would encounter ups and downs in IM but if you persevere, work hard, you can definitely see the profits rolling in. For newbies, I would advise you to stick to 1 business model and 1 niche first and stick to it for a few months. There are too many methods of making money online and you would just be wasting your time and effort if you jump from 1 method to the next too quickly without putting in considerable effort in any of the method. Best Wishes!

Thank you jt17 for the words of advice.

Still trying to understand what business models are available, what the skills are, and then the first steps. But I don't want to wait forever and will have to start something.

Welcome to WF. There are several business models you can find here about IM. Just look around and learn what they are about. Just like johntan17 said..once you've found the one you're interested in, learn more about it, work on it and just focus on it alone until you succeed.

And don't get tempted by "shiny things" that promise you a guarantee to make $10000 next week or next month. There are no such thing in IM. Just a friendly reminder for somebody new here.

    Hi Anthony,
    welcome to the forum!

You are right that there is indeed a learning curve, but you can get answers to most questions here - I have been given the exact answers I needed when I needed them to so many, and I still ask today.

    My advice to a newbie?
Pick a plan you like the logic of, something that interests you and think you can work at, an then work at it!

If you need to get opinions on that plan, then ask here, but once your choice is made, take the decision to stick at it and follow it through -the biggest reason for people not making progress is that they fall victim to shiny new object syndrome, and hop from one system to another.

Hope that helps, and best wishes,
    Gordon

        Welcome anthony.

It is a steep learning curve with lots of treacherous potholes and bumps if you don't focus first on the business model you choose. Perhaps the most basic model is affiliate marketing. I was fortunate early on to have stumbled onto the methods of Harvey Segal. I suggest you read one of his free ebooks (no signups required) and see if it may resonate with you.

Clickbank For Newbies can be found from the link below. It is very good.

Hello Anthony and welcome to the WF forum. You could do this and work part-time if you set your mind to it. It just might take you a bit longer to get there than someone who was doing this 50 hours a week. Good luck!

Hi Anthony, I'm also new to the warriorforum(as a member), but have been around the internet marketing world for a while. The best thing to do is research and go ahead and choose a niche you're interested in. Don't take too much time getting started with your website building process and moving into traffic generation. I wish you the best of luck.

and that does take balls indeed @ Jeni

    Hey Anthony,
Welcome to the WF and also welcome to the world of IM... it is daunting at first but there is a lot of great advice on the WF and also a lot of the warriors on this thread, as the post above the best thing to do is pick your niche first... something you are interested in then build from there.

The other main thing to do is plan things, it is all to easy to read posts and try and get the education... but take action on the things you learn so you master them... then move on or else you will have the good ole Info Overload.... Good luck buddy and enjoy the experience.

      Welcome to the WF!

I understand your time constraints. I also have a full-time job and limited time. But editing is more of a hobby for me and I love doing it. So I look it as getting to do my hobby, while making some extra money along the way. Being a teacher, the extra income is always good! I still teach summer school, but the half day schedule really allows for me to do my editing. I think Sean gave you really good advice about picking one thing to focus on and sticking with it, rather than branching out in too many directions. Good luck on your journey!
