Effective methods to get targeted traffic except of SEO?

Hi,
I'm sick of SEO and google panda, penguin ...and other updates, can you tell what effective FREE methods you have used to get targeted traffic which finished by making some sales? I was working the whole two past years only on SEO and it's actually hard to fight with all these changes done by google. I don't regret the time i spent on that because I learned a lot of interesting things and I have even made some sales but since September I haven't made any sale that's why I wonder if everybody of you could say a word about his successfull free method so that all people like me know it and do the right thing. Thank you

    These are few methods you can use to drive targeted traffic to your site:-

    1. Blog Commenting - The key is to find some high traffic blogs in your niche and try to be the first one to comment when a new post is published. You can use Technorati to lookup some high traffic blogs in your niche. Regularly provide valuable comment on the posts, this is the key to getting your site link clicked.

    2. Guest Posting - Once you have posted some good comments and struck a relationship with the site owner, send them an email asking if they are interested in publishing a guest post. If you have been posting frequently on their site with valuable insights chances are they will accept your proposal.

    3. Forum Posting - Join some high traffic forums which allow a signature link. Post some interesting threads, contribute some high quality information. Earn some reputation before adding a signature link. This way you won't come across as someone who is simply interested in advertising their site.

    The key to all these methods is to create quality content, whether you are posting in forums or commenting on blogs or publishing a guest post. Use a similar avatar everywhere.

    There are many other methods that can help you generate targeted traffic for free but these are the ones I have personally used and had great success with.

        I try to do it simultaneously as often as possible. I also use the same avatar everywhere. I post comments on max 8-10 blogs and 1-2 forums per niche. I, however, outsource my content because english is not my primary language.

    Just try to follow the simple things if you want to focus on some specific tasks.
    1. Unique SEO friendly content creation regularly.

    If you're not relying on search engine traffic, meaning robots spidering your site and making ranking decisions based on the current Google algo, you're talking about direct human or follow-through traffic from other sites. Learn to direct traffic from social media, forums, blog comments, youtube video, Yahoo answers, Google news, even Wikipedia if you can get a link to stay up there. In combination those sources can get you as much or more quality traffic as from SEO.

    Using SMM can increase your website traffic, but still it works better for building brand reputation. SEO is probably the best for generating traffic to your website. Other ways are blogging, social bookmarking websites, forums, PR websites, directories, video services like YouTube etc.

    Provide decent content and people will visit your sites.

    Certain things always prove popular, for instance create a funny pictures website and create relevant pages on social media sites.
