So is anyone using Doba for Dropshipping?

I havent used doba, but i regularly use chinabuye and they offer a great service free of charge. They accept paypal and are 100% secure.
Another great site is DHGATE, although a few months ago they stopped using paypal - i think they were banned from the service for supplying non-authentic goods. But they now have a buyer protection program similar to escrow. You should try them out

chinabuye also has free postage worldwide on all products - and the actual company chinabuye supplies the products
dhgate has free postage on most products, it depends on the seller. if you tick the 'free postage' option it will only display products which the seller offers free postage. on this site only buy from sellers who have a good feedback rating. that way you are safe

I tried Doba's free service (I can't remember what it was called) to test the waters with them, but it was HORRIBLE and helped me to decide not to use them.

doba offers are horribly saturated on eBay. never used them personally though.

Not recommended at all. Personally, I have used their services for 13 or 14 days, before they begin to charge my debit card. I don't actually think you will find some products that will make you some decent amount of money monthly. Anyway, if you're thinking about giving them a try you can sign up for a 14 days trial instead of a 7 days. How ?

I did the free trial on Doba and didn't like them at all. You should look elsewhere.

the easier you find your dropshippers, the more competition you will be up against.

I used doba about 3 years ago and the products you are selling are over over saturated by other people trying to sell them. I say I would have more luck finding things at a garage sale to sell faster than the doba products. It is a great idea, but there needs to be a limited amount of people to sell certain products in order to sell the products quickly.

wmsclothing is a U.S based dropshipper that's been around for awhile. Cloths, shoes, and lots.

I used it the past but many times they are "out of stock" in my experience.

I looked into it...too many complaints and I heard they aren't always easy to cancel once started.

I've used Doba before and I tested several products and while their drop shippers deliver on time, as many have posted - product saturation and eBay sellers under cutting you. Low profit margins. I have heard good things about World Wide Brands too. Anyways, I have had experience with dealing with vendors on AliBaba.com or EC21.com, if you are selling unbranded every day goods, you can get good deals and sell them well on eBay. Try to cut out on the middleman for better profits.

I've had good success with Doba but had more success with Worldwide Brands I suggest you give a try to both and just one thing to consider is when you join any of these services be patient and analyze your market.

Any type of out-of-the-box dropship subscription, or broker list site is going to be the absolute bottom of the food chain and filled with bottom feeders. These are the guys who penny chase on eBay because they lack creativity and their only marketing skill is being the lowest price. And yes that is a generalization....and yes it is very accurate.

Take your time. Determine what niche you really WANT to pursue in your category (Clothing, Toys, Housewares etc.). Then do your market research to determine both the demand and the supply side competition.

If there is measurable demand and reasonable but not GOLIATH competition, there is probably some potential for entry.

Now, with your product line in your plan...head out and find your supplier. Search Google for manufacturers and wholesale distributors of your actual product. This step is called product sourcing. It can take days or even weeks to find the perfect relationship...don't use a once size fits all website or subscription or service.

When product sourcing, some of the things we search for in Google are "Find a Dealer" and "Dealer Locator" and "Where to Buy". Why? Because true wholesalers don't sell retail. If they have an "Add to Cart" button or if the "supplier's" site is also an e-commerce site...move on to the next one.

Legit wholesalers don't compete with their dealers in e-commerce or on eBay, Amazon etc. If they do...they are middle men and just looking for you to increase their sales, but couldn't care less about your success.

Two more things:

Dropshipping should only be used for quickly testing products to market or filling up a site. Once you find a series of items that you can move, you should inventory them as soon as possible. Keep dropshipping around for testing and those filler items that sell sporadically. But shipping fast movers yourself will increase your profits quite nicely.

eBay, Amazon, Google and the million others should only be used as lead generators. Don't build your business as an "eBay" business. Use eBay to send you a buyer...but then convert that buyer to a client of YOUR brand. Use packing slips with your logo and a coupon or code that sends those buyers directly to your WEBSITE.

You can't send eBay shoppers to your website or email address, but you CAN send your eBay BUYERS to your site. Use those shopping platforms to build YOUR brand. YOUR list. That is your long term strategy!

If you use Doba on an e-commerce site you better make sure the two are compatible. Doba has a list on their website of shopping carts they work well with.

I started out in dropshipping and using a bad dropshipper eventually caused me to give it up. Getting ready to try it again. Learned a lot.

The best way to find a good one is word of mouth if possible. Can't research enough but find someone that has used the dropshipper you are thinking of using and talk to them.

A quick rundown of the numbers (which I teach in my eBooks) will quickly show you that their products do NOT show a profit.

Here is their pitch: "This is how much the item is FOR SALE for on eBay" and "This is how much we charge you for it"

What they don't tell you: "This is how much our dropshipping fee is" "This is how much we charge in shipping" "This is how much the item ACTUALLY SELLS FOR"

The problem with most dropshipping companies that are 'eBay certified' (meaning they paid eBay a fee to say that) is that they lure you in based on an 'MSRP'.

I will say this now: "Nothing on eBay has EVER sold for an MSRP... Never once, never ever, and never will."

Here another thing - No item ever sells at the MAP price either!

So one might wonder - can you ever do dropshipping on eBay then?

Yup... been teaching it for years. ... but you need to leverage yourself first.

Believe me. .. Doba was pretty easy to pick apart. I signed up for a free trial, had their salesman call me.

He hung up on me after he said this: "Well, since you OBVIOUSLY have everything already figured out, it looks like we have nothing to talk about *click*"

I haven't used doba. I've had a lot a success with dhgate. Yes, dhgate finally cut out Paypal. Thankfully, my biggest suppliers gave me their paypal email address so I could still pay through Paypal. Most sellers offer free EMS shipping that takes about 10 business days.

What a huge list - I will have to look into doba and see if they ship to Australian customers - this has given me new ideas

I read a lot of bad reviews about doba.com. I'm sure things are not quite good. I suggest you to research very carefully before choosing a program. I'm using Cellz Drop Shipping and they are very professional. They require No upfront expenses or signup fees. Plus, they take care of the shipping.

ADE has a great tip in going to trade shows. A lot of folks think they are dead, I disagree. It is a place where potential suppliers and potential buyers meet. What more could you want. A real "trade" show is not open to the public, you will likely need a reseller license to get in. That helps keep the riff raff out ;-)

My experience has always been to go to the back of the show to find the folks who got last minute booths or are startups. Sometimes a lot of great products there and the companies are EAGER for representation. Now, for new products market building can be an issue as there might not be search traffic, but the opportunity can be huge.

In Seattle where I live the gift show comes through twice a year, as well as dozens of other shows. Really ambitious? Hit the big shows in Vegas, for most shows your expenses will be cheap. Go to CES and it's a zoo and hotels are through the roof price wise. If you can fly in for the LAST day only. Hit the International Pavilion for manufacturers and the far corners and back rows.

Seriously there are so many manufacturers looking for people to sell their products. And, after so many posts why do people still ask and talk about Doba and WWBs. That is the road to hell, you'll be fighting every other cheap and lazy seller for pennies. If you are lucky.
