facebook ads too slow

Hi,
I am new to facebook ads, and over the last few months have been trying to make money with them, but it's just not working out and i don't know why. So i was wondering if anyone could help?

The problem is i find facebook ads so slow. I run my ads for 3 days just to test it out with a budget of £50 but in 2 days i only got 16 clicks. This is the second time i have tried facebook ads and the 1st time had similar results. At first i thought it was my ad appearance so i went away, improved my ads and even paid someone to design an ad for me and it looked really impressive - but no luck still only 16 clicks.

I am in the weight loss niche and bought a couple of programs online to teach me how to set up facebook ads.
Here is what i did
- i created 5 different ad sets each one targeting a different interest such as adset 1- for weight loss : set 2 for diet etc
- set it so i was the highest bid
- target just USA ages 19-65

but behaviours - well i noticed facebook have stopped the 'online spenders' section and all i can find is 'FB payments' for people who have spent money on facebook payments? Not sure if this is the behaviour i should be selecting now if anyone knows but can't see any other buyer/spender options.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Because i keep reading about facebook ads being the best way to advertise but i am not seeing it. Would appreciate any help!
thanks

It's hard to say without seeing the full details around your campaign but it sounds like you either aren't bidding high enough or your targeting too tight

The thing with weight-loss is around 30-40% of any given demographic is interested in it. Targeting people who have indicated a specific interest in dieting, etc. on FB is unnecessary, and most likely counterproductive as they are saturated with offers and cynical.

Also, almost everybody in the Western world over 25 has a credit card handy and knows how to use it, so online spenders or similar is a pointless target for weight-loss that would just drive up costs.

Instead, your focus should be on getting as many clicks to your lp, within a broad demographic, for as low a cost as possible and use your targeting options to make that happen.

In my experience, 35-55 female in US is the best demographic for diet-related offers. Within that, you can narrow down targeting and create ads around that, testing out which style of targeting brings you affordable conversions (ie. which style of targeting/ads bring you both a lot of cheap clicks AND bring people who are in a body-conscious mind-state).

For a simplistic example - people in that demo who like some celebrity who has recently been in the news for losing weight / advocating weight-loss. Make an ad around that celebrity (Shocking! Dr. Oz's wife lied! See the weight-loss secret she has hid for years") and you'll get a lot of qualified clicks. Or people who like republican/democrat pages and relate the ad copy to politics ("Why Obama doesn't want US citizens to lose weight").

I wouldn't suggest using celebrity names if you're running a legitimate weight-loss offer, though. But the point is that weight-loss is such a broad-appeal niche, you should focus on using targeting to get low-cost clicks and use the ad copy to get the clicks from people interested in weight-loss right then.

Of course, never confront people about their weight issues in your ad unless your using your accounts for churn and burn - "want to lose weight" style ads will always be complained about and eventually have your account shut down.

Set your bidding ABOVE the highest bid, or try oCPM/

A lot of it has to do with your bid per click.

What I would do is increase my bids across the board to see if there is a difference ... and also ensure my budget can absorb the increased potential for clicks each day so my campaign won't run out of steam (I can still manually pause halfway, of course).

Sometimes these platforms will calculate how much money they will make based on your ad performance (historic CTR you have built up), your daily budget and your actual bid. If they aren't high enough then - generally speaking - they will only trickle feed you clicks.

Try increasing both your budget and your bid ... and also open up your target demographics if possible. That should hopefully give you a lot more clicks fairly quickly.

What is your reach? What bidding system are u using? Give us some info on that so we can see what is the problem.. Maybe your targeting is just way to low numbers.
