Video Ads - Networks + Question

1) Is overlaying ads on embedded videos that aren't yours legal. Say I embed a video on my website uploaded by NHL and I overlay ads, is that allowed?

2) Which networks are good for video overlays or intros/outros?

Nobody has any experience with this?

To clarify, my website embeds videos (primarily from Youtube). These videos are not my own. Often they're uploaded by fans of the sport or by official sport channels.

But never the less these videos are embed-friendly and are on my site.

So my question is twofold: am I within my rights to overlay ads on my site video player (in this case brid.tv) and if so what are some good networks for video ads as far as CPM, CPC etc is concerned.

Any insights would be appreciated even if your experience is limited, because I'm literally clueless and Google won't answer the question as its weighted too heavily in favour of things like on-site Youtube monetization, DailyMotion monetization etc which is not what I need.

YouTube copyright laws are tricky. You are better taking your own content and borrowing a 3rd party video player or using a company to set everything up for you. If you are looking for video ads you can try my company.
