Every campaign is going to be different. Experiment and find what works for you. If adwords are better for you then use adwords.

I have found for finding clients, my cost per lead is (cheapest to most expensive) Bing>Facebook>Google>LinkedIn. So for me, for this campaign, Facebook is better than Google Adwords. But for a different campaign with a different audience that might totally change.

I wouldn't say either is better or worse or more or less expensive. Both are different and can work much differently depending on the product; niche, customers, etc. If AdWords works for you then great, work with AdWords!

From what i understand is Google Ads are quite useful when your audience is already searching for products/services or information that they already know about. So with Google Ads, you can target your audience based on their interests.

With Facebook Ads, their targeting tools are much more detailed/tailored. So what i mean is, Facebook allows you to target users based on their profile/demographics. So if you're selling something like 'hipster clothes', you're able to target your audiences based on their age/gender/location/marital status/whether they're property owners etc. They've also go other interesting features like 'custom audiences' or 'look-alike audiences' which allows you to target audiences (or audiences with similar backgrounds) by using their email if you have them in your database.

That hasn't been my experience at all. We manufacture and sell a
physical product in a very well defined market. I know exactly who my
prospect is... what they read... who the follow... what they do in their
leisure time... even the magazines they read... and Facebook provides
the means to target them specifically.

My cost per click is less than 5 cents because I get tremendous
engagement on my ad posts so FB rewards me with wider distribution
at lower cost.

I've never seen a platform that allows me to so narrowly target and closely
define a market. Our dollars of revenue per dollar spent is amazing. I highly
encourage you to learn how to do Facebook effectively.

In my Niche google wants $13-$20 PER CLICK for the best keywords. For facebook I get leads for 10 cents per lead. It really just depends on your selling strategy.

For me cold selling from both google and facebook just wasted my money. I sell much better from my email list.

A simple answer to your question would be Facebook is better because you might be lucky that your campaign will have organic reach. If one person likes or comments on your post, it has the tendency of reaching more people. Though this is not always the case but there is that hope if you a good ad or offer. I guess this is not the case with Google ads?

Google Adwords has EXPLICIT demand: people actively looking for something and you get the answer with your opt in page and products.

Facebook has IMPLICIT demand: you have to target people who MAY be interested in something and then propose what they may look like. But you can define and narrow the targeting more.

Google Adwords DISPLAY has implicit demand and it's cheaper than search.

Both they have pros and cons. Facebook tends to be cheaper in IM niche, even if the competition gets higher day by day.

Of course they have to be used for building list and lead generation.
Cold selling does not carry u anywhere.

Adwords has strict rules for opt in pages and mmo niche, even facebook is going in the same way.

I think that a good combo is: facebook ads + google display ads.

Lots of people are lurking or are spending more time in Facebook - for entertainment or communication. Advertisers are taking advantage of it. I think the target here are people who have interests and not necessarily have the intent to purchase a product or a service.

On the other hand, Google Adwords usually target people who already have the intent of buying the product/service (this is applicable for the search campaigns).

I think, the bottom line is, advertisers like Facebook for branding (extending brand reach from one personal network to the other) even though the intent may not be as higher as the users that are targeted in the Adwords campaign.

Adwords is usually a lot more expensive than FB which is reflected in the quality of the clicks

Facebook ads is good for building awareness over Google adwords as Facebook targets to people based on interests, behaviors, location, etc, we can advertise to people who even do not know your product exists. While, with Google adwords, it targets to people by keywords and normally people type a keyword in Google search, it means they have some ideas about your products/services or your industry and they are truly looking for something.

It depends on how much reach do you need for your product to be bought by a customer. Google AdWords is great but Facebook ads are good for awareness of the product to reach a million user based on their locality and interests etc.

Adwords does work but it's a money pit. Google takes a lot of our hard earned money in my opinion. Facebook is also really expensive. I stopped using both and just started using a service from saveonmarketing.com. They said they can keep my conversion rate up for a fraction of what I spend with Adwords. I will update when my campaign is over.

This is tough to understand at first but the skilled Facebook marketer would look at your post and say you're wasting money on Ad Words

All about the skill of the internet marketer; nothing to do with the tools. (aka Adwords or Facebook or anything.)

Example; some Warriors say blogging is a waste of time and it's better to grow a list through a squeeze page. But blogging has not been too much of a waste of time for me This is my view now from New Zealand and yep, blogging played a chief role as my prime tool in living a globe-trotting lifestyle:



Blogging is simply the tool. Some Warriors see the tool as useless or not effective. I chose to develop the skills to make the tool sing. Always the individual's choice as the tools/strategies are inanimate objects and cannot "work" or "not work" anymore than a hammer can do anything on its own. Gotta have a human being with some skills to use it effectively.

Go for what you enjoy working, ad-wise. FB or Adwords, or whatever resonates with you. Your success lies there.

I like both Facebook and Adwords to be honest. Adwords is pretty expensive and if I had to use one or the other I'd probably go with Facebook. There are other outside services that could be an option. Have you looked into any of them?

Google adwords is substantially more expensive up front. In one of my niches google wants upwards of $40 a click! That's way too rich for my blood. While you won't get sales right away from Facebook ads you get leads which you can keep forever and sell them other things.

What really makes me more into facebook than google is I get instant feedback on my ad. If my ad sucks people have no problem saying so which I love. With Google if my page is not converting I have to guess and do a lot more trial and error to see what the problem is.

It depends on the purpose of the campaign. I'm in Dominican Republic and I've noticed that Facebook ads do much better in Latin America than Adwords ads for some niches.

Adwords is a lot stricter and so is Facebook. I am looking to run pay per call campaigns on Adwords but found it to be very hard and would like to know if anyone has had success promoting ppc offers on facebook?

Facebook now has an audience with better conversion rates than Google People have started opening their valet in Facebook as well, just like they do with Google.
