Banner Advertising Questions
From what I can tell banner CTR's tend to be very low... lower than what you'd aim for in say PPC.
I'm advertising mostly CPA offers with banners, which are mostly free trials, so they tend to pay around $30 - $40.
If I was advertising with something with a payout of only say $2, I would know when to pause sites or campaigns which didn't convert, but I'm not sure what I should do with a higher paying offer.
I assume I don't want to wait until I've spent $40 on a specific url or not to see whether it was converted or not... I assume I should be able to make a judgement of whether I should pause it before that.
So my question is, at what point is it feasible to make that call? How many impressions? What sort of CTR should I aim for?

EDIT: Just to clarify I'm talking about doing banner with media buys.
