Going From CPS to CPA... HELP!

I've done the likes of Clickbank for a few years now mostly using SEO tactics to drive traffic to a few sites o mine. Anyways I keep hearing that I should try CPA because you might not make as much, but it's easier to make money.

I don't know where to begin though, I'm still not entirely sure how it works compared to CPS. So you send someone to your website and there is an email sign up form for some offer and if the visitor fills it out I get a dollar or something? I need a tutorial or introduction to it, maybe one of the major CPA service websites can fill me in more, but I just everyone's opinions here so figured I'd get advice on what my plan should be to get myself organized. I'm not a newb to IM, just CPA mind you.

If you already have experience with CPS it shouldn't be hard for you to get started with CPA. However, just before I give you some advice, let me correct you on something:

... you might not make as much, but it's easier to make money.
This is not correct. You not only can make as much money as with Clickbank, but you can make even more! I also used to work with Clickbank, but now it's responsible for only 10% of my profits. I'm almost 100% focused on CPA because I consider it (and this is just my personal opinion) a better business model.

In order to get started with CPA you need make a few choices. There are many different types of CPA offers and I don't recommend you to go too broad when you're just starting.

First, choose a few networks to join. I recommend Neverblue, Clickbooth, MaxBounty, TattoMedia and Copeac. However, these are just a few good ones, there are many others out there, just make some research on this forum.

After joining some networks, you need to choose your verticals. Since you already have some websites ranking well on search engines, you may want to use them to get started. In this case, just skip this step. On the contrary, choose 2 or 3 niches that feel comfortable working with.

With your verticals in mind, start looking for offers. You can browse the networks that have accepted you or use OfferVault.com. I also recommend you to contact your affiliate managers and ask them what converting well for your verticlas and traffic source. They will give you important tips that will save you time and money.

Usually, I recommend people who are just strating to focus more on free offers, such as email/zip and short form submits. However, you already have experience with CPS and, probably, are experienced enough to promote free trials and other things that require a credit card number.

The rest of the process is similar to what you're already doing to promote Clickbank products. Build a landing page and drive traffic. I don't know what's your system to get traffic, but if you use SEO I don't think that you will need to do something a lot different than what you do to promote ebooks and memberships.

    Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I applied to Neverblue not too long ago actually, I guess I'll search that offer site but should I try applying to a few others rather than just the one? I don't want to get too broad too soon.

Neverblue is a very good network, but I recommend you to join a few more ones, just to have more options. It doesn't mean that you need to go broad, it's just because you will have more offers available and therefore more chances of finding a good opportunity.

And if you start doing bigger traffic on an offer, you will want to do a lot of split testing between similar offer (same and different network) and ever cross-network testing, because the same offer may convert differently on different networks

        Yep, it happens

I generally suggest newbs to belong to a handful of networks (3-5) Can increase as time and traffic increases!

You can make substantially more with CPA than with CPS! Lets make that clear up front. In fact, in most cases, if there is a comparable and solid CPA offer to a solid CPS product, I would pick the CPA campaign 9 times out of 10...this assumes there is a good suitable CPA offer.

Of course, CPS has its place and there are plenty of people making millions with CPS and plenty of reasons you may want to stick with CPS, but certainly dont underestimate the power of CPA

Now, if you are doing pure SEO, I would go for a more competitive higher paying offer, assuming there is one in your vertical. For example, if you currently have a ranked site doing well with a CPS weight loss affiliate product, then def try out some higher payout weight loss CPA offers. If you are starting fresh sites, then speak to your affiliate manager and find a good solid CPA offer that is sustainable. SEO is a longer term play so you want to stick to sustainable niches and/or offers. Doing a trendy offer wont be worth it.

Let me know if you need anything else and hope to see you in the winners circle. SEO is a great way to achieve huge results in CPA....im sure you will do just fine!!
