Start reading through every type of affiliate blog you can find as well as watch videos on YouTube to learn different methods. There are tons of people who are looking to help you, as long as you sign up under them for a network. Don't lose hope, you need to start somewhere, so make it GOAL #1: Find a Mentor!

I have managed to launch some successful campaigns on POF recently and I think that I have understood how this traffic source works, so maybe I can help you.

Don't get disappointed because you lost money there, I can guarantee to you that many people using that platform are doing nothing but throwing their money away.

I'm always spying the competition with many fake profiles and I have seen terrible things there. People targeting the wrong demographics, promoting offers that are for Facebook, writing tremendously bad ads, etc... I have even seen many ads with the tags typed wrongly! E.g. (state:US}, {state}.

POF is not like Facebook or the search engines. POF is like POF. Does it mean that it's difficult to make money there? No. It just means that you won't make money there as you do with Google or Facebook.

There are few guides about POF out there (some of them are very expensive), but most of them don't give away the "underground secrets", just the basics. The most complete one I have seen so far is Mike Morgan's guide, he really gives away some gems and help beginners to understand the process of launching campaigns on this newcomer platform. However, there will be more things to figure out by yourself after reading the guide.

If you have some experience with Google's content network or Facebook you can have a shorter learning curve, but you won't find a winner right away. You need to be patient and learn fast if you want to turn a profit soon.

One thing I can really recommend you is to talk to your affiliate manager before launching campaigns on POF. It's even more important than spying on the competition, because most people are doing everything wrong and their campaigns can be very misleading for you! I also recommend you to use the big networks, because their affiliate managers really know their stuff and will give you advices based on real numbers (some smaller networks also have great affiliate managers, but it can be hard to know which ones).

Sesl, if I may make a suggestion, perhaps while you are still learning, you should stay away from paid traffic sources? From what I'm hearing, it sounds like you are money poor but time rich, so you could have lots and lots of time to try out bum marketing methods like article marketing, video marketing, and things like that.

These methods are great because they give you the chance to build a relationship with people from the very start. They read your content, and then visit your site to get more information about what it is you're offering.

I recommend getting on a guy named Travis Sago's list over at bummarketingmethod.com. He has an amazing free email course on how to use ezinearticles, USFreeads, Clickbank and CPA offers to make money online. He is really an established guru in helping people make money with little or no money at all.
