Dedicated Servers... when needed???

Hey everyone, I am wondering at what point do you need a dedicated
server in running my campaigns? I am thinking of getting the prosper202
to track my info but I was wondering if I should get a dedicated server first.

    A dedicated server is expensive, however you get your money's worth.
    You should only rent one if you have a LOT of data\sites\campaigns running simultaniously. That's my opinion, but I would wait for more advanced IMers to respond.

    Chances are most people will need a VPS far before a true dedicated server..

    Hi, If you need good availability and large hosting resources for your growing online business then you should opt a dedicated server because dedicated server provides complete central control over every single aspect of your hosting resources without sharing its any resources with any other client.

      Very true for - multiple ecommerce sites, video streaming, online learning, file downloads and other high-volume activities. No sharing with other people providing the same services.

      The issue with dedicated servers is we have to take care of the Systems, Applications, DBs and Security on our own. Outsourcing or employing a techie for those geeky functions will be costly.

      Before leaping to Dedicated Servers, a better start would be to try VPS first. The geeky functions are still done by the provider. Would be a good practice before migrating to Dedicated Server. At least until the revenue allows us to afford techie guys.

    Prosper202 does not need a dedicated server.

    You only need a domain hosted on a web server having MySQL db. Then use FTP to upload the files. Then run the web-based easy installer.

    If you don't know how to install, your hosting provider should be able to help you.

    dedicated server are for big players that have lots of traffic per day
    i would say..a VPS is a good start

    in shared hosting, you might lose some traffic and find some discripencies ..
    if you want to use P202, shared hosting is more than enough
