Has Facebook banned CPA offers

Facebook has been recently cracking down. Especially on dating. I'd say make a few accounts, let them sit for a while. That's what Im doing. Just wait out the ban sprees.

Facebook doesn't really like Maxbounty links, so I've had to get creative with how to put them on my pages.

So far my favorite method is creating a tab and having it redirect the user (full screen) to the offer when they click it. Many of the iframe apps for pages have this feature built in.

I am pleased to read that some of the members here deal with CPA on facebook and dont seem to have any issues with it..

I am somewhat puzzled why the guru whom I watched over the weekend would say such a statement....

I was wondering just to try and clarify it further if it may be possible to actually contact facebook and ask them to clarify it..

I am not sure if it can be done, but it may be worth checking if its possible to be on the safe side...as it does seem also that there is some concern with certain CPA companies or types of offer..

Yes they do allow cpa offers but there are certain types they hate such as email submits, free stuff , biz ops etc. they allow insurance, weight lose etc all day long.

Facebook ads and fan pages is actually my main promotion for CPA offers and I am having no problems.

Facebook allows CPA offers. However they don't allow scammy CPA offers like ringtones, or rebills. Even most dating advertisers are very shady and most users don't like only seeing dating ads (so Facebook is starting to disallow more of those ads as well).

Find a CPA offer that will actually provide value to the user, don't write a misleading ad, and you should have no problem getting it approved.

Thinking about the basis of whats been said...from the experiences of the members replies which I am finding useful....

It seems some offers are a problem and some offers are being seen as spam or for some reason F.B decide upon what they may like, when they approve them..

What I am a bit unsure about ....was when the Guru over the last weekend ..said "if you get caught promoting CPA offers that FB will ban you and permanently"..

YET the ads for the offers have to be approved in the 1st place..

I have never used FB so far ( but was hoping to do so in the near future)

SO... I would suspect that when you place an ad, in order for them to accept it... that
Its down to them to check if its acceptable... and if they dont like it , that they will just reject it.... and in this case Should Not Ban you ...

Just a thought... as to how I would had thought they would operate..
or maybe they dont have time to look in detail whats being promoted for
each ad...

We have publishers making very good money with facebook ads. They can definitely be tricky to get approved, but if you use landing pages and try to do something slightly different than what everyone else is doing you should start seeing some results.

I use Facebook + CPA offers, but I link to them indirectly. You could even create landing pages that lead people into filling out the CPA (not incentive type stuff, ew).

My suggestion would be to offer CPA's that of course, offer value and are actually something your visitors will enjoy. I've found some CPA's that convert very high, my fans love them, and they are helpful. But I've also found CPA's that are total junk, spammy, and unrealistic.

But why is Facebook against CPA offers at all? Dating, I can understand. But there are so many other CPA offers. Google is basically saying no to millions of dollars Internet marketers are willing to spend.

Not trying to be snarky here but:

A. Absolutely promoting cpa offers on facebook
B. It's widely known a lot and I mean a lot of cpa offers are pretty deceptive. Owned a network with 500+ advertisers for over 3 years, so yea...Imagine running an offer on Facebook but you created facebook, it's your baby. You care nothing about except making Facebook the best you can be. Money doesn't matter to you, you've got more you can spend in a lifetime.

Now imagine you open your baby up to the world to advertise on. Do you want your users (whom you now are closing in on 1 billion users with) to be turned off by some scammy, ****ty ads?

And C. Who was the speaker? I think you got ripped off. They should have been telling you WHAT TO DO instead of WHAT NOT TO DO. Doesn't sound very much like a productive seminar to me?

Facebook wants their users to be safe and happy. if people stop using facebook then all the advertiser going to stop using them and that means no money

Just use your own landers and you'll be fine!

I appreciate all the feedback....
and its good to see members here succeeding using facebook with CPA offers.
I personally cannot see why there should be a problem with most CPA offers..
and it will be really frustrating if Facebook have brought in new rules or do go on to
put a stop to CPA offers..

I have been in further contact with Two Gurus who I had asked them about it.......and I have questioned them both and they still offer opposing views..

The one who told me about CPA being banned who has a support team have suggested that I contact facebook direct and to read their rules...and suggested this is the only way I am likely to be certain..

I had a quick look at their rules and I couldnt see anything obvious that referred to CPA..

I am considering telephoning them, but I have read this is likely to be difficult to get through to them...I dont know if anyone on Warrior forum may have ever been in contact with them...

PPC Coach.... The Gurus whos seminar I attended was giving a Free event to customers of his who had bought certain packages from him...( although there was a fee involved , I was informed all fees were to go to a charity of his)

I didnt think that he was surposed to be selling anything... BUT he did make some offers to two or three of his higher level packages...one included more help, guidence and info than his basic package along with various other things..Products, tickets to other events etc..some one on one help..

The other included attendning his House for a few days where he offered to help set up customers with their business ideas with a website etc...Id say this is ok if you know exactly what it is you want to do and need help doing it quickly and correctly..

Ive seen a few marketers doing this recently..

IF I do manage to contact facebook, I will post what I find out..

You make some very good points, BUT I am not fully clear on some of what you say.

I am assuming that you are suggesting Facebook being the "Baby" have become strict on what they are allowing to be promoted... so maybe they have banned CPA offers or certain ones that are seen as poor quality to its users..

Not being too experienced or knowledgable about what one should say on forums...I am not sure if I should say who the Guru is for the time being as I dont want to risk making a wrong or incorrect specific comment against his credibility until at least I feel that I am more certain about what he has said is likely to be correct or not..

I am not sure if attending that event if it was surposed to be his latest updated knowledge that he may be upset if he read this message.

Maybe this is another seperate topic of discussion...ie what can one say after attending events if they are surposively are of a non disclosure type of concern.

Having said that I assume many such forums , members join as they often need to try and clarify or compare notes from material that they have learned...especially when they have two or more opposing views.

First mistake, was going to a seminar with a "guru."

Gurus need to make news, and need to say things that make people think, so they will say that Facebook won't take CPA promotions.

Facebook makes tons of money on CPA promotions,they aren't stopping anytime soon.

You seem very confident in your statement...and from what you say I would had thought that may be correct..

Is there a reason that you are so certain ? Do you work at Facebook or have contacts that do ?

The members post by Ruck, seemed confident also and he suggests as I interpretate his posts, that they may do the opposite and not allow such promotions. ( or at least on some CPA promotions)

You can wonder about it, ask about it, chat about it and get 100 different opinions on it. BUT the only way you're going to know for sure who's right and who's wrong is to launch a couple campaigns, take some action and see for yourself.

Don't believe everything you read online or what some "guru" tells you.

I just tried phoning them and It seems that all they do is refer you to their website ...

I havent check this out in full as yet... BUT I do find it frustrating when you cannot call to get an answer to something that may end up getting ones account closed down.

I am also informed that you are only allowwed ONE Facebook account..so I cannot try using different names or IDs... unless there is a way around it..

NO ... I myself did NOT say that / those statement/s.... It was a Very well known Guru that said it to me...one of the Top Internet Marketers...

I have tried to phone facebook and it was a waste of time and money..Initially I called a UK number that I found that suggested that they could advise about Facebook... and they did answer the phone... and this may be ok for general queries and very useful...
BUT their phone rates were High.. £1.52 a minute plus a £1.53 connection charge.

Unfortunately they didnt seem to know anything about CPA or advertising.

So I then called the US number.... --1 - 650 54 34 800...

All this did was tell me to go to their websites help section...or leave a message..
I dont want to leave a message , as I dont want to inform them who I am until I decide what I am going to do for sure with facebook.... or see if I can open more than one account...

I looked on their website and I was not impressed... I couldnt really find easily what I was looking for... theres a section on facebook disabling accounts along with some reasons why they may do so, BUT it doesnt mention specifcally anything to do with CPA ads being a reason... I am not sure what they would class as crappy CPA offers exactly other than what I have read on this thread so far.

I did do a google search... and found a couple of sites that look like facebook, that do mention about CPA...and suggest it is ok to do CPA on facebook... BUT I dont think they actually are from facebook... I think they are made to look like facebook in order to promote their own CPA info..as there were links to other sites that were non facebook.

I was hoping at least that I could email facebook... But I cannot even find any contact info on facebook or a decent search option...

They suggest having a forum... BUT all I can see is a series of questions...

I myself have not joined facebook... ( or if I have, it was a long time ago and I cannot recall) BUT if you are only allowed ONE account... IF I did join today... I WANT to be CERTAIN what information that I do sign up with..

ON looking at the sign up form, IT appears that you could join under any name and open numerous accounts.... BUT I am not sure if you could get away with this IF you start using advertising with them... as they will need to know your specific details when you make any payments for adverts to them..

THIS is why I want to be sure what I am doing before I start any campaigns...especially if I can only have the one account..

All in all I am disappointed with their website when trying to obtain information or ask questions..I would have thought that they would have had a good support team on live chat if they wont anwser emails or phone calls..

You said that Facebook bans CPA offers, in a general statement that Facebook does not allow affiliate program promotion. This is the statement that is incorrect.

I just don't see why people would take risk of direct linking to the offers.

Get creative and do something unique. Try some things out, you're sure to find a solution to getting around this without Facebook getting angry.

Justin is dead on. If you're petrified of getting banned. Don't do it. Get creative. Do boring old things that make a ton of money like actually developing a funnel and a list. Then market there.

Just a quick update..

I Note what Justin said and PPC coaches advice..

I could consider doing as you suggest, BUT the program that I initially signed up for
is surposed to offer me a quick route to making sales, without doing the longer list building methods...I will consider doing this if things don't go to plan.

Its just that before I can apply it, I feel that I need to be 100% or as certain as possible that Facebook have not prevented CPA promotion advertising.


I have now lost faith in trying to find anything else out with Facebook by their website or by email... The last option I have is now seeing if they will phone me back if I leave a message on their phoneline... I spoke with a IM company in the Uk who claims that they can offer basic advise on FB... and they said for more detailed info you have to contact them direct... but they said it can take a WEEK or more to get a call back from them...
I find this very disappointing...

Mr X spends hours reviewing all of the rules and regulations involving FaceBook and many other 3rd Party interest that he is involved with. He is very thorough in his research. I wish we could help you more but you will need to go to the source to get the most up to date information.

To me it does suggest from the reply that he is well aware of keeping up with the latest changes and I surpose I would expect him to be right..

Mr "X" did talk about the rules of Facebook but the best resource is Facebook themselves. The rules change all of the time and you have to keep up with them to make sure you comply. In fact on November 1st there were some major changes to the Facebook rules and regulations.

Facebook only allows one site per person but several people have founds ways to create more. As soon as Facebook finds out, they will shut down all of the sites. It is always better to follow the guidelines.

It is interesting that you mention the facebook ban on CPA. In fact, there was a recent IM product from a fellow warrior being launched in Clickbank selling a product on using facebook to promote CPA offers. The way she did it was to have an indirect link so that you have no risk of being banned. She did not mention facebook cracking down on CPA offers as well.

Facebook has not banned CPA offers.

Facebook has not banned direct linking. Run the link through mywot. Ideally run your own tracking url anyway.

Is direct linking your best bet? Sometimes direct linking keeps your accounts in check while hard selling on a lander gets you in trouble.

Problem is, often direct linking results in lower ROI. Often, not always.

FB allows cpa offers as long as they adhere to their terms and conditions. You may cloak links and promote adult dating... but when they catch you it's a surely a ban but. Just like Google tried to clear out all the shady offers so FB is following suit.

I got banned for nothing so I think its really random....the offer I was using was an email submit for dog pics and I wasnt direct linking at all. I had a redirect thru a dog related site I run and they still disapproved my ads and banned me after only 4 bad ads. I've heard guys on this forum say they've been disapproved MANY times more than me so I feel very slighted that I was banned. Doesnt matter I have another CC that I can use so I'll get back on it soon. I just want to get a better idea of what others are doing. I think that you should establish a good account with them 1st on a fan page with NO CPA at all and maybe even a website or 2 then once they have approved a few ads I think they scrutinize less than if you are new to creating ads on FB. For all the vets on here that get away with direct linking all the other stuff I think its cause u guys are good already with FB....for us new people to the fan page phenom we have to be more catious. Just my 2 cents.

I got banned for my 1st campaign

Thank you for members who recently have posted about their bad experiences with facebook.... Although I am not sure if they were all actual CPA promotions... it still seems concerning that some members seemed to have been banned for what seem ridiculous reasons and on niche products that seem to be perfectly ok.

It seems that anyone who considers promoting anything on facebook if they are not sure would need to check with facebook before they promote to get their response that everything seems Ok with them, before one pays for a promotion...But as they are not easily contactable that makes it difficult.

I have now found that you can actually email Facebook if you are advertising to check with them... and I have asked them to give me advice or more detailed guidence with CPA promotions... I sent an email to them for information several days ago (4 or 5) and still had no reply.

What was annoying, is that it took me several phone calls to check on each option before I got a recorded message from them giving an email address for advertising..

I don't think just trying to read their website details on what you can promote is good enough... I think it needs someone from facebook to clarify a promotion is suitable, if that would be possible.

No One wants to risk or deserves being banned unless it was for some severe issue...

I purchased the same info product that Bill is referencing for running a CPA offer in the dog niche on Facebook.

Got my page all setup and then put together the ad just as recommended and Facebook keeps disapproving my ad. I have not actually setup the link to the CPA offer yet nor even hinted about it and yet I think since everyone who purchased this info product did it all at once Facebook didn't like it and now rejects all ads that follow the same principles.

I'm glad I read this here though as they've not yet banned my account so I've deleted the ads I resubmitted.

I contacted Facebook via their advertising email and explained that their own guidelines say nothing that would explain why my ads were disapproved. I even posted their own guidelines back to them and addressed each item point by point.

They haven't gotten back and probably never will. I think the company reflects its leadership and its leadership is a cocky kid who knows he's the big dog on the block and can get away with being arbitrary.

I make money everyday on FB with CPA offers. The only ones I have ever had denied are dating offers. Everything else runs fine. NOTE: Be careful if the offer is seen as a contest or giveaway and run it a little differently - FB has strict rules governing those things.

Not so sure how well Direct Linking works, but if you create a fan page with a short description and the link in the body, you should be fine.

Point the ad at the fan page.

Takes a bit more effort to get your ad accepted compared to the old days.

I have tried dating offers on Facebook and they were all rejected.

I am running now 'games + console' offers and they were accepted and they are making me money.

so I would say from my own experience that Facebook still accepts CPA offers, BUT not all niches are accepted.

I have had NO reply at all from Facebook... they seem a waste of time when you want to know specific details...

I was speaking with a respected Internet Marketer this weekend, and asked him about facebook accounts... and from what I understood, you can set up as many accounts as you want with facebook, that you can use to promote to other website links in ones posts... if for eg one was discussing various topics related to internet marketing...
maybe you could have one facebook account that discusses traffic, another that discusses web design, twitter social media or what ever....

Before discussing this with him, I was not sure if could only have one account for everything or not...

BUT he told me that you can only have ONE business account..

So at least I am clearer on this.

There are a lot of people making a lot of money on Facebook using CPA offers.

Any talk of banning CPA is purely hearsay and speculation.

I can't believe a "guru" would spread such misinformation to paying students.

CPA on Facebook is still very very much alive. As with anything times change. There is a lot of good advice in this thread. One thing I would like to point out is, treat this as you would any B&M type business. That's what it is. If you look at it as a means for getting some quick cash, you are bound to do something that is going to get you in trouble.

Yes Facebook is finicky, in fact many would say downright frustrating, annoying, and some descriptions that start with four letter words. But...

If you approach this as a long-term business and treat your campaigns with care, you will be fine. What I mean by this are, forget the latest little exploit or who knows what. There are things that work, and that involves grabbing attention and getting the click.

Where you take that click after is going to determine how you structure your campaigns and ads. Fan pages work well as do external landing pages. Direct linking works too, you just have to be careful. I've only run a handful of campaigns that did better direct-linking than with a landing page, and they didn't last very long.

Avoid things like e-mail/zip submits, contests, etc. Avoid images that have big blantant click me here arrows and stuff that is offensive.

A little creativity goes a LONG way here.

I think that It does seem that there is a good chance that you can get away promoting
CPA or other offers that may be concerns to facebook with various strategies if you get the right guidence as many on this thread say that they are doing so...which I am pleased to read ...but I suspect the direct linking method would carry more risk of being discovered if its something that they were more against.

The so called 'Gurus' always say those type of things. They also say affiliate marketing is dead every year.
