Facebook Ads - Cannot Choose standard CPM as Bid Type or Change Bid Price

Hello... New to the forums and have a question:

I placed a couple facebook ads last week. One of them was CPC and the other was CPM. On the CPM ad, I can choose a bid price for each 1000 impressions. It worked just fine.

I just created another CPM ad... However, the ad interface has totally changed and I no longer have the option to edit the CPM bid price. It just goes into an optimized CPM, where facebook chooses the bid price for me... this is not what I wanted.

Has anyone else ran into this? Am I doing something wrong or is facebook getting greedy because they don't like people to build a brand unless they get paid big bucks for the actions the people take (i.e. - clicking through or clicking the like button)?

    Hello,

I've had the same problem. Looks like facebook has changed the goal posts..

I tried facebook traffic for my lead gen sites but the quality is horrendous. I now stick to adwords and YSM/BING. Facebook just gets lots of impressions and clicks that hardly convert as facebook is full of kids who want to socialize ... they DON'T actively search for something.

So yeah, if you wanna do lead generation, stick to 1st tier PPC engines like adwords.

Any questions just let me know,
    Nick

What I have learned is that you can promote the exact URL of your page and gain control over your CPM bidding, but you lose the "Like" link underneath your ad.

    Kinda silly.
