Today I made.....wait for it.....drumroll please......$35 pure profit! Spent $20 on traffic and got back $55. It is my very first CPA/PPC campaign so it's nice to have my first campaign be a winner after spending a week learning CPA, PPC and Prosper202. Onwards and upwards from here with more studying and more campaigns!

My best profitable day is probably around $40. I have one or two profitable days a week, and lose money for the rest them. I'm net break-even, minus a couple bucks.

This was a site with declining month-over-month revenue at ~$5000/mo that was sold for $90,000.

Even if the revenue decline was stopped, it would've taken over 18 months to earn the same amount of money. That assumes no new competition taking away customers, no saturation of the market, no new costs, etc. Those were not safe assumptions.

Even if the same amount of money were earned over 18 months, it would've been taxed as ordinary income at >30%, versus a long-term capital gain at 15% by selling the site. We're talking about over $13,500 in extra money in the bank that would've otherwise been paid to the IRS and state.

So taking taxes into account, the site would've had to run revenue-stable for 21 months to earn the same amount.

By taking it as a lump sum, I was able to make investments that returned over 500% in under a year, start two new businesses with over $10k/mo RR, and put a downpayment on a house without eroding my runway (# of months worth of expenses availble in liquid assets).

Money now is almost always more valuable than money later. If you won a multi-million dollar lottery, any financial planner would tell you to take the lump sum over annuity payments unless you have a history of mishandling your money (i.e. you'd blow it instead of saving and investing).
