Need affiliates - Getting the word out

We have obtained the US distribution for a wrinkle reduction product and it's associated products. Yes, I know there are a hundreds of wrinkle reduction products on the market and I am not going to try to convince you here, but this one works - without bio-chemicals.

We are going to run a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to for inventory and marketing. We will be a single-point distribution (our website, similar to retailers like ProActiv) with possible private label clients.

We want to use affiliates as part of our marketing for the crowdfunding. Since the crowdfunding site is an independent site (can't place tracking code on it) we can not use a traditional ad network. However the crowdfunding site has excellent tracking and reporting for referrals from other websites. Although I do not believe they have cookies. But the campaign is only 30 days.

I am looking for suggestions on how/where to let potential affiliates know about this program without having to approach them one by one. We want to make it very attractive for affiliates to promote the crowdfunding campaign, so the commission will be on the high end of the average commission for cosmetics products.

I am not naively expecting that there is any easy answer for this, but input from anyone experienced in affiliate programs and ad networks may prove to be very helpful.

Thank you
Paula

Without large sums of money, you will need to do all the dirty work the old fashioned way - by hand.
Networks require money up front to list your products. There are quite a few affiliate sites though in which you could advertise your specific offer.

It doesnt sound like youre quite there yet, however.

So no one has any input as to where or how to contact people who are affiliates or potential affiliates, eh?

To respond to Surreal's input, the issue in not the fact that we would have to put up a deposit for an ad network. The issue is we are initiating our funding using a crowdfunding campaign. We are sending people to the crowdfunding (not our own) site to make donations (for rewards). We can not use a traditional ad network because we can not place the tracking code on the crowdfunding site. it isn't our website. They do however, have very good referral tracking capability.

I want to pay affiliates 20% of whatever donations they bring in. But we have to reach potential affiliates first.

Hello Paula, no offense to you, but your setup sounds very sketchy. You are going to try to convince affiliates to advertise an investment into your company, and then pay them a percentage of the amount raised? Then you will use that money to fund some sort of cosmetics product?

Why would any affiliate trust that they will receive payments from a company that has no money for marketing and no money for inventory, and has so little experience in affiliate marketing that they don't even know how to reach affiliates? The answer is no affiliate will trust that, especially no affiliate with experience.

I hate to say it, but your plan is doomed to fail. If you really want to bring this product to market, you'll need to spend your own money to do so and build an affiliate program. Then the affiliates will come.

@Steve, I was looking for input. I am really not seeking discouragement.

With all due respect you have no idea what the situation is. I am sure you mean well, but trying to pull people down especially when you have little information to base helps no one. I am certainly glad you're not my partner. :-)

Oh yes, the reason I came back to this thread was to say I located my answer on another thread where people were actually providing useful advice: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...e-program.html

So thanks to anyone who might have been a help. I am unsubscribing to this thread and going off to run my distribution business.

Not sure how you got the AOR with the merchant here but if you or the merchant have no funds - good luck getting traffic deals. Affiliate Networks require $5k min prepay before placing your offer on their network and promoting it to affiliates.

check out paid affiliate forums like stackthatmoney. Its $99 a month but you get access to pro marketers and can ask them to do a test for you. You will still need $2k or so to make it worth their while... so figure out what you can pay people to market and still stay profitable. The paid affiliate forums are the only place I know of that you can recruit individual pro affiliates. You can track them with something like postaffiliatepro. Good luck!
