Facebook Ads Experience

Interested in hearing other peoples experience with Facebook AD promotion of a page ( inside admin there is an area called Build an audience, click that and you get

It gives you 3 options

More page likes
promote page posts
advanced

You can then send them to your timeline or app on your page.

I chose app page.

Took me close to 24hrs to get approved for one ad that i setup yesterday.

The ad was directing people to a TAB on facebook where I had a signup area

At 12:37 they approved today. I was optimized automatically for CPM ( just wanted to see how they handled it. I knew they were going to charge more but was keen to see what they do when they do automated optimization.)

I logged in a moment ago

My $50 was gone

According to facebook. I got 71 clicks average price was $1.44 CPM ( again yes i could have controlled it myself but I wanted to test them doing their optimized method )

Actions: 50 ( 45 page likes and 5 link clicks )

Interesting being as I wasn't even directing them to my timeline.

Now having said that. The tab page I was directing them to was an iframe of a site.

I will run another $50 tommorow this time I will optimize myself and then update this thread.

wow that's way too much money to be spending imo. I use fb ads rather than promotion and I find that the conversion rate is ~meh~. But acceptable I guess! But I already think i spend too much though I get clicks at SGD$0.04.

    Wow $50.

Using the Optimized bidding option has shown the best results for me, but you should lower your daily budget to allow the Optimized bid to lower over time so it doesn't cost you as much.

I published an entire article all about this:
Facebook Fan Page Ads: Optimized Bidding or Manual?

Overall, I see much better results with the Optimized CPM:

If you lower your budget and let the campaign run over a few days your Optimized CPM should continue to drop and then you can increase your budget once it has

As you build up engagement maybe you'll be able to get your Page / App to go viral:

    Good luck!

      I'm impressed. I've never reached 24% CTR
      I'll try optimized CPM

I used Facebook ads to advertise a Facebook page and altogether, I spent a little over $100 and received around 1500 likes. I set up everything manually, setup a $5-$10 daily budget, and did a lot of testing (demographics, interests, etc.). I don't think the optimized option was around when I did my advertising so that's new to me. Anyway, the page grew to 13,000+ likes after I stopped advertising so I guess the campaign was a success in the long run.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. You'll get organic traffic from both Google and Facebook (depending on the title of your fan page). I had one fan page grow to over 140,000 Likes in a 6 month period and I didn't pay a penny
