Hi,

I am just about to order a VPS for my PPV and I was thinking about getting beyound hosting but have through a friend gotten an offer on a very powerful VPS in Germany (great reviews) and I wonder if it will hurt my PPV tracking (will use Imobitrax) if my VPS is in Germany?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Jute

I'm no expert in this but I think as long as it's VPS server, I think you're good.
Nevertheless, you should wait for other comments.

    Thanks @DavidLasry

I just want to make sure that I get a great solution and I don't want to be "cheap" but if I can get the same or better for less then I will take it....

    Thanks!

As long as it has the same specs and configured the same then IMO location shouldn't matter

Yeahhhh... I'm gonna have to go ahead and Disagree with ya there (in my best Bill Lumberg voice lol)

Check out google's post on GEO Targeting in relation to search results being critiqued based upon location/target etc ...

So without this post turning into a giant Book on that, i'll just say it would seem to me that the location of your host can & does effect the outcome of seo / search traffic overall - Google explains in more detail obviously but to me, I just would not risk it if I were you, because what is the point of going with a Host overseas just because you dig them... Do your homework~ there are an unbelievable amount of VPS Hosting providers in your country who offer competitive rates & you wont have to worry about being effected by this overseas host issue.

I guess for me its always better to be safe than sorry. Nothing worse than building a site - getting it ranked and having it be dumped off the serp because you decided to take some risks with your host...

I am not going to say anyone company over the other (if you really want my opinion on that just PM me) but I am not here to give ya a pep talk & then refer you to the host which i just happen to be an affiliate of or something...) I just wanted to give ya some honest advice

      I hope this helps

      Be Well

Not all hosts are good. Keep that in mind.

I would just stick with BeyondHosting, it is more proven in the affiliate community.

Location of a server can effect load times.

if you need steady power and top notch support, just go with servint.net
I have VPSs with them, never had issues. The average ticket response time is 10 minutes and they are very expert in system administration.
If you do online business, they are the right deal for you. Maybe they cost a little more than others but you know... money is money and getting offline is not what you are looking for.
If you enable caching, your pages will load faster than light, i have w3 totalcache fully configured within the vps and page speed results are impressive.
