Newbie my own sales site vs Red Bubble/Amazon Merch

Hi all,

So getting into t-shirt design, have been reading a lot, sketching some cool designs.

I know the advantages of selling on Amazon Merch/RedBubble. Its all done for you, you get a cut, built in customer traffic. I know also you have to work up your way in different ways

I wanted to know what are some online services out there that print on demand but to sell on my own site. (Of course, I know that my own site would involve self promo but at the same time, higher profit?). So yes, Amazon Merch/Redbubble, I just upload design and they take care of the rest.

Im more interested in knowing about the cons of using a print on demand service that does not tout selling their audience nor the selling service?

Thanks

Hello, so I read that sites such as Oberlo and Aliexpress (which are Dropshipping sites) will let you have your own online shop and sell finished products for a commission.

While dropshipping allows the seller to customize a website to offer a unique experience to the customer, they must analyze if they have the time and skill to do so (think of it as an investment). Of course that the ones who customize their site will hold leverage over POD sellers in regards to brand-building (and yes, they'll have a better profit margin). On the other hand, POD sellers have the advantage of being able to set up a shop in minutes at no starting costs.

I've got a link to the article where I got this from, which has a nice cons and pros list, but I can't post it for some reason! I can message it to you or if you want you can type: "print on demand vs dropshipping placeit blog" on google and it's the one that says pro's and con's! Cheers
