Hello all,

I would like to hear from those who are experienced and have some proven methods in finding a profitable niche market.

What are some methods used in finding out what companies would be worth while, what markets are hungry, and What kind of research you do to stay on top of it.

It's always suggested to niche down to what you either like or know a lot about.

Well for me, I've been in logistics and freight forwarding the last 10 years.

I am still actively employed full time in the field and choosing this market might be ideal for me.

It might make sense for me to seek out this market as it would help me become an expert a lot quicker versus generalizing going after whatever industry needs services.

My goal is to stick to B2B markets.

What sort of research should I be doing?

How can I figure out if these companies are profitable enough to pay without issue for services?

For instance I've read some posts that say to seek out companies that easily make $1 million plus as they would be able to have the marketing funds needed without much resistance to paying what you ask granted your skills match up to expectations.

Any advantages to small business versus mid or large size?

Where can I go to keep on top of market trends.

Another market of interest would be real estate.

Brainstorming and hitting things down.

Looking to really target my bigger picture and plan accordingly.

Thanks for your feedback and assistance.

B2B is great. I made $100,000 from selling a niche software tool. I found out about the niche from my day job. To be honest I should have charged more. Then I would have made $250,000.

So many times I have talked to dentists, doctors, lawyers, underwriters and other professionals. Every day they discover problems that a high ticket value app could solve.

B2B is awesome, especially if you have insider knowledge of a particular niche.

Get out there and talk to people. Like go to bars and talk to professionals. Go to trade fairs. Don't look for ideas on WF, you won't find them here.
