Ads on Forums

Hello warriors,

I'm a complete newbie to forums as well as placing ads on any sort of website.

I am working on launching a forum geared toward medical professionals. Using phpBB as my platform.

I already have an advertising extension installed. Now just need ads to populate.

Adsense turned me down.

Any centralized area to sign up for affiliate or other ad commissions with various products/services?

I'm thinking more traditional companies that might appeal more to the professional medical audience.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

    I'm new to all this myself - but I think the glaring focus might be getting traffic up first. Affiliates may not be so interested in supporting a forum with no traffic.
