Most of the smaller ones have their search results powered by Google or Bing.

Do you really want to put in the effort:

    https://www.statista.com/statistics/...earch-engines/

That is a link to the market share of the top search engines. You'll notice that Google and Bing control some 95%.

    So, do you really wanna?

A better question might be can you afford not to? A lot to this answer might have to do with the geographical location of the OP no? Baidu for example controls 75% ( +/- ) of Chinese search.Think about that in relation to the numbers you shared.. 75% of 1/6 of the human population use something other than Google... Because Google is not in China. Google has 85% ( +/- ) market share in markets they are present in.

A bad placement on Google gets you where? but a decent placement on the other 15% of search engines will get you more than you are getting on Google.

Its a numbers game... its spreading your eggs across many baskets... Its going where others dont believe its worth the time.

A marketers JOB is to have what you are presenting in front of as many people as possible... and ignoring market share because of why bother? I can tell you I BOTHER... and its worth the time.

Interestingly after Google and Bing the next highest traffic to one of my sites is DuckDuckGo, still only 5% of organic traffic though.

Google and Bing of course. DuckDuckGo as they said. Not sure if Yahoo Search counts.

Thanks for posting this. I am asked this question pretty frequently as well. Ironically, a quick Google search will give you many lists and options. Here are the top 8 besides Google and Bing.

    DuckDuckGo.
    Ecosia.
    Dogpile.
    WolframAlpha.
    Gigablast.
    Startpage.
    Qwant.
    8. Facebook Search.

    Thanks and good luck!
