The algorithm is always changing. Maybe you should run a site audit and update it .

  • Sometimes when I add new content to my website I see drops as well. Give it some time and see if things come back to normal.

I doubt that a single line of content can cause a massive drop overnight. Google is not that fast damn it.... It needs at least a few days to see changes

The fresh lines of new content you added at the bottom of your website homepage might not be the cause of your keyword rankings dropping overnight. You might be subject to a manual penalty by Google without knowing. First, log in to Google Search Console and find out if your site has been recently penalized by Google.

Adding new content to your homepage shouldn't cause a massive drop in keyword rankings overnight unless there was something problematic with the content (like duplicate or low-quality text).

To recover, remove or revise the new content, and make sure it adds value and aligns with your SEO strategy. Also, check for any technical issues or errors that might have occurred around the same time.

Monitor the site's performance in GSC to see if it bounces back after the changes.
