Google hates me after dumping Elementor for Gutenberg - All rankings vanished!
As recently as two weeks ago my site was ranking on page 1 or 2 for nearly 100 keywords. I was ready to get started. I felt the only thing holding me back was Elementor which was crashing all the time and killing my Google Core Vitals. So I converted all my Elementor pages to Gutenberg pages and while my Core vitals for desktop skyrockets all my rankings vanished. What I did was I created duplicate pages in Gutenberg in private mode (WordPress) then when I was ready for them to "go live" I turned off Rank Maths redirects because I don't want my entire site to be one big redirection. I then copy/pasted the old slugs (URLs) to the new slugs "went live" with the new pages and deleted the old pages. Then I turned redirection back on. The result in my mind was identical content on identical slugs that should receive the same rankings but with faster load time. Boy was I ever wrong. It's as if my site doesn't even exist on Google even though Analytics says is does (sort of) I literally copy and past random content from my pages and Google turns a blind eye. I'm afraid I have somehow permanently damaged my site's ability to rank for anything ever again. Does anyone have any insights for me?
