Are new sites covering a sub-niche stand a chance against high authority sites covering a niche?

I want to create a blog about a sub-niche, and the competition in this sub-niche is easy to moderate according to Mangools KWFinder.

The problem is for the most important keywords in this sub-niche, Google's top 10 results have high domain authority (above 50) and page authority (above 40).

Knowing that All of these sites focus on the general niche, Please, would a blog specializing in this sub-niche achieve good results?

  • My understanding is that Google assesses your site and if it decides that your posts can do a better job of 'answering the question' than your competitors then you will rank higher.

However, it might take a long time and a lot of effort to overtake your competition. For this reason, you may wish to explore other options such as a less competitive niche.
  • It can. You may not win on the top keywords, but you can on the longtail keywords. And, of course, there's always the buying ads option and social media.
