Making money as an affiliate marketer through online forums

One of the most underestimated methods of affiliate marketing promotion is through forums. One of the main things to remember is not to jump straight in and start going on about what a great product it is that you are promoting. You will automatically be put down as a spammer and more than likely you won't be able to post on the forum again.
What you should do is spend a few days looking around and taking notes about what kind of questions are asked and what the general theme of the forum is.
You should then start making posts and offering helpful advice where appropriate. After a further few days you should include a link to your blog within the signature box of your posts. If you are using a well visited active forum you should start to see an extremely favourable response.
As an example take a look at the main warrior forum. You will see on there that some people have absolutely no intention of helping anyone out, there only concern is making a sale which they try to do at every opportunity. On the other hand, take a look at the posters who are offering helpful advice and who are not critical when someone asks what is perceived to be a silly question. I can assure you that these posters are really making it pay and that kind of promotion through forums is the only way to go, as they say, you reap what you sow.
