Wouldn't you love to work with a product as good as this?

  • Good demo.

Shame about some of the comments on amazon.

One of the great challenges in advertising - try and persuade the manufacturer to make the product as good as the "pitch."

Or admit any flaws (and if possible show how they can be handled).

At the very least make it all real so the customers aren't/can't be in anyway unhappy. You always want them to be thrilled and delighted.

If you can make it impossible for the majority to give nothing less than 4 or 5 star reviews.

Absolutely. Products that can be so dramatically demonstrated don't come along very often.

I'm wondering if the humor and the length add to or take away from the ad's effectiveness. I found myself being distracted by both.

Billy Mays, who demonstrated numerous products, did serious, one-minute ads.

      I figure this demands humor.

They got a template now for ever more absurd stunts based on the same powerful imagry.

I am remindeda Top Gear, an' this ad plays to the same kinda cocky machismo.

Tellya, when I am trussin' sum masked assailant comes snoopin' round my place, I am trustin' to this stuff insteada tights.

Yeah, I thought it went downhill after the second car crash scene.

Speaking of Billy May, here's the transcripts of 21 of his infomercials
      as well as the videos...

This is a good sense of humor, although not a perfect product.
But the video is long and it's like watching a comedy all day.
