Be Honest...

Hi,

My point of this thread is to see if I'm heading in the right direction..

I am running local family fitness sessions and my business is called the

Active Health Academy which I have a logo for. I'd like to know what

you warriors think about the following slogans to go underneath my logo:

'Healthy Families Rock'
'Getting Families Fit & Healthy'

I like the idea that children can recognize the slogan & think cool!

What do you think? I am heading in the right direction? Be honest...

Thanks,
Ben

If I had to choose between the two, I would go with "Getting Families Fit & Healthy" personally. As far as the slogan being recognized as "cool" to children, I think that both fall short.

  • Fitness, Family, Fun
  • I agree with Joe. The 2 slogans aren't remotely cool. They're honestly quite lame (especially the first one - kill it before it breeds).

If you want to appeal to the younger lot, why not sites like 9gag? It's swarmed with youngin's. Observe their language use.
  • Hey ben1ewis,

I like seeing people seek constructive criticism, first of all i honestly couldn't imagine kids thinking either one of these are cool but i must say its a good thing to try and involve kids with more physical activity's, in my opinion i like Getting Families Fit & Healthy, maybe think up a few more and re-post.

NO. Not 9gag. Never 9gag. That is where funny stuff goes to die. Those posters just incorrectly use Reddit memes anyways.

    • Ok.

Basically, you want to go the sites they "hang out" at.
  • Truth be told Ben,

I don't think the slogan is gonna make you seem 'cool'. It's what you DO at your fitness place that makes it cool.

Make it fun, interesting and entertaining and kids are going to want to keep dragging their parents back for more. The thought that a slogan is the basis of sales is a fallacy.

Make what you're selling incredible, and it won't matter if you call your business "The place for fatties" - they'll come, and they'll love it.
  • Hey Ben,

I ran an online fitness biz for 10 years.

And if there's one thing I learned, it's this:

People don't buy because of your slogan or logo.

They don't buy because of your design and graphics

They don't buy when you say you're the best in the world at what you do.

And they SURELY don't buy because you have a good service.

Nope, they buy because of what you can do for them. How can you help them ease their fears or frustrations, how can you solve their problems, how can you make them happier?

And WHY SHOULD THEY CHOOSE YOU?

Selling a boatload of gym memberships ALL comes down to understanding human psychology and what makes people tick.

If you're going to make the kind of money you want to make... you need to use the right words that speak to the specific needs and desires of your customers.

So think specific benefits and then attach an emotional element.

"Where Families Come to Change Their Bodies AND their Lives"

"Spend Quality Family Time Together AND Invest in Long, Happy, Healthy Lives"

Ben, I'm just winging it and using examples off the top of my head, but think of one or two HUGE promises you help people with. And then try to paint a picture in their minds of what their future could be like with your services.

The best slogans are those that use a specific HUGE promise and then an emotional benefit.

Walmart's is Save money (specific promise), Live Better (emotional benefit)

    Hope this helped.

    Shawn

  • Great advice from Shawn. I would add that whatever format you use, be sure you create a USP (unique selling proposition) and cling to it tight. Your current two concepts, to be blunt, are dull. How are you different from any other family oriented fitness center? What can you give visitors that no other business in your area can?

Also, while it's nice that you want kids to get excited about being involved, it's very unlikely they'll be the ones reading the slogan. Even more unlikely they'll be the ones paying for membership... keep that in mind.

I am agree with "shawnlebrun".So don't think about your logo and slogan just think about the service which you want to sell. You can pay more effort on marketing and convenience your customer.Just keep it up ,if you are honest then you are successful otherwise ........

I'm not looking for a logo for my company its just for this purpose. Thanks again for all your comments.
To Mark Andrews for your info I have been busy working as I don't feel I need to hang around the forum all day. Kinda counter-productve. This is the first chance I've had to come back & see the posts. So I don't take kindly to your comment of spam!
