Recommended books on creative writing?

Hey sorry if this is posted in the wrong section...

Can anyone recommend any good creative writing books?

I feel my writing is so plain and doesn't really engage readers...

Any help is appreciated.

    ...be a touch careful, "creative" doesn't necessarily engage the readers.

    More often than not it misses by a country mile. Just look at the "creative" TV and press ads.

    You might win awards but the poor client gets no sales.

    My point? - you would be better reading books on the art of copywriting.

      It's not necessarily a creative writing book, but I found Stephen King's On Writing to be useful- there's good overall advice about the craft and I found his story pretty interesting.
