Getting ready to launch a retail store in the nutrition niche. Our marketing will rely heavily on radio and newspaper. Wondering if anyone has seen any specific courses or wso's on this specifically.

    Why have you decided to launch your nutrition store with radio and newspaper advertising when it is likely that most of your repeat biz is likely to come within 5 miles of the store?

    You would be well advised to check out valassis.com as they are the single largest customer of the U.S. Postal service and you can reach homes for 8 cents each, plus do demographic targeting.

    This is the company/service that arrives in most U.S. homes mailboxes on most Wed./Thur offering the week's grocery deals, flyers from the cable and dish companies, dentists, pizza, radio shack and other retailers.

    If you feel totally compelled to use mass media, choose a radio station that closely matches the demographics of your target market AND has high listenership in the zip codes within 5 miles of your store...

    ...then give-a-way product on the air and the customer must come in the store to redeem.
