First I'd like to say thank you for Warrior Forum and this amazing section. And I'd like to give back to the community by sharing my store.

Not to long ago I was struggling in making my first dime online, but luckily I have come across a business trend that almost everyone was talking about “Amazon Business”

I believe it was about 6 months ago when I started reading about Amazon FBA.
Honestly, for some reason, that was the first time it ever dawned on me how hands off the FBA business is.
I always thought manufacturing and selling a product on Amazon meant producing designs to get manufactured, shipping product to your house, shipping it to customers when they ordered, and answering customer service emails.

In a nutshell, I was clueless about Amazon FBA. Because it turns out that none of those things are true.

so, for the first time ever I did a little bit of Googling about people selling their own products on Amazon, private labeling, and FBA. I was a total newb just 6 months ago.
I was not expecting to make $10.354.26 in my first 3 months of listing the product! This just went from a little side project that I tried not to spend very much time on to a business with the potential to grow significantly.

To be clear this is not a pure profit, it’s just my revenue, I beleive my profit margin is around 37%.

So why my first product did well?

First, I DO think a big part of the reason is because it’s a slightly unique product.
I just took an existing product off amazon that was doing well, and made it very slightly different than the other competitors are providing. Now, because I’m pretty much the only listing that offers this exact product and I KNOW people want this feature, it’s selling.

Some of you may ask how did I knew that people were looking for the exact feature that my product has?

Simple: before I make my product, I went through the reviews that were listed under my competitors listings and saw a lot of people were complaining about it.

The second reason it’s selling well is that my product is ranking well on Amazon for several long tail keyword phrases. Yes, this was intentional. I treated my product description like a niche site and used my targeted keywords in the product title and the product description, and I also had a great images.

Because of these 3 factors: unique product and showing up for long tail phrases, and having a nice looking images I was ahead of my competitors and I was making about 2 to 3 sales a day after about 2 weeks of being listed.

Reviews

Reviews are very important factor in Amazon, fi your product don’t have reviews a lot of people wont hesitate to buy it, as nobody likes to be the first to test your product. Before I had reviews I was selling 1 or 2 a day, at that time I didn’t know what to do to get more reviews as a lot of people were saying that only 20% of amazon buyers tend to leave a review for a product, and when they do they are more likely to leave a bad review.
So to overcome this issue I started looking for people that I would sell them the product at a promotional price in exchange for an honest review, I come across many services that were offering this kind of service like:

Amzreviewtrader
Ilovetoreview

But the problem is they were charging a lot for their services around 500$, and that was too much for something like this.

I came across another service called [https://www.amazingdeals.io/ ] that they were offering the same exact service for free (not affiliated with anyone), I gave them a shot, I give 13 promo codes and within a week I got 11 reviews, As a result, my product was listed higher on Amazon in various categories and for the keywords I was targeting. I suddenly noticed a huge boost in sales up to 7 sales a day only from 1 listing.

the sales continued to be much higher than before…and these were natural sales.
I started selling so much product, that became worried I will run out of invent

if you found this useful, a simple thank you would be great, if you also have a question dont hesitate to ask.

Where do you recommend starting your training? I've been talking with my ma about starting an FBA business, but haven't had the time to start digging into it for her yet.

Also, what was your initial spend? I've been telling her 7-10k to start -- do you think that's a good ballpark?

i would recommend you to listen to some podcasts in this site [theamazingseller. com] it has some great content for beginners.

for the initial spend, you dont need 10K to start, you can start as little as 500$.
find some products that are doing well and dont have a lot of competition on amazon, and get some samples from alibaba or dhgate and then list them and start testing the water.
a lot of chinese manufactures are willing to send samples.
once your product start selling then you can order a bigger quantity.

Thank you for sharing your FBA story and your experience with getting reviews for your product.

I am curious - did you initially start your FBA business with your private label product or were you selling other products before that?

i started my FBA with a private label product, although i dont suggest that to new sellers because it involves some risk, eg: some manufacturers might not send you a quality product, also there is the risk of getting scamed by some chinese. the reason i went with a private label from the get go is due to my partner who knows how to deal with the chinese

for new sellers, i highly suggest to use dhgate and aliexpress untill you are familliar with the ins and outs of dealing with international sellers.

Yes, there is a big risk of being scammed if people use the sourcing sites you recommend - Alibaba, DHGate, and Aliexpress!

Thousands of people have been scammed after buying from suppliers on those sites. Rather than learning the hard (and costly) way, it might pay you to risk a lot less and learn something from experienced importers.

Thanks for the explanation. Your decision to go private label initially makse sense now that you explain it. I usually recommend folks start small just to learn the FBA business - such as the aspect of using your seller central account. There is a bit of a learning curve. Sounds like you are doing very well for your first few months.

Thank you for the post! Can you please share with us how much do you pay in fees for Amazon service? Besides paying for the product to be manufactured and shipped to Amazon, what are other mandatory fees that you pay

Hmm the amazingdeals.io site appears to be down - I wonder if they are closed for good?

Are there any other reputable site like this?

I tried one dollar reviews a while back but all the reviews included the text "I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review" - which seemed a bit off to me.

*edit* I just read on the Amazon site, the reviewer has to leave this disclaimer in this situation and accounts may be at risk otherwise. (I learn everyday )
