Emails sent to junk/spam?

Hi all,

I have an issue right now, which is what I believe to be my emails being sent to junk/spam.

I'm with Fastmail, and of the 50 or so emails sent over the last 48 hours through GetResponse, only three have clicked my affiliate link, which was the first sign of this issue. I then received an email shortly after from someone I had emailed roughly a week ago, saying they didn't respond to me earlier because my email was lost in their junk/spam box.

This is a major issue for me right now, and is what's preventing me from getting anywhere with my business. There's nothing (noticeably) wrong with my emails, and I trust Alexa's judgement on that. I would post the emails here, but I don't want to give my niche away, so I will refrain from doing so.

I have ensured my emails are continuous - but I think it's more than a problem with those emails alone, given emails I send to other people oftentimes being sent to spam.

I have sent a request to Fastmail's support team, but thought I might get an answer here that may also impact my emails which are being sent.

Here's what the email said in regards to the email being sent to spam:

Hi x

Thanks for your email.

Our sincerest apologies. On doing a routine check on our spam folder we
found your emails, which have now been white listed to avoid future
problems.

...

Warmest regards
I apologize if this is the wrong place for this question (it can be moved if it is) or if nobody here can give me some solution.

My website host is Hostgator (I know - I need to change soon) which is where the forwarding is set up, if that information will help in any way.

P.S. Just to add: this has been going on all year for me, and don't understand why it's happening (it also justifies my zero-income through affiliate marketing, I hope). I also have a bounce rate of over 10% in all my niche-attempts, which I think isn't too great?

Niche 1: Bounce rate: ~23%
Niche 2: Bounce rate: ~11%

(this is with my emails)

I can't explain why this is happening with your email provider. And, that might be related to something which your email host can handle or possibly there are words in your email content that is causing it to trigger the spam filter.

Without knowing more about your niche or even seeing the emails, there's no way I could say more.

I suppose I can provide this email which was marked as spam:

    Hello z,

After spending days (yes - days) searching through Clickbank for
suitable products to promote, I stumbled across the 'x' niche, and
your product in particular caught my interest. I thought the design of
the product page was excellent, with no leaks (which is very hard to
find) and was overall satisfied with how it was written and executed.

I am going to be starting a website which focuses on the 'x'.
I believe this could be a strong market,
which is what I look for when selecting a niche market. The way I will
be promoting your product is through email marketing, and possibly on my
website (without looking too generic, of course).

I have been affiliate marketing for some time now, and it's always
exciting venturing into a new niche. I will be getting traffic through
article syndication, and know that there are many websites/magazines and
other publications who look for this content, which is definitely a good
thing, and something I look very carefully for when selecting my niche.

In saying that, before I promote any product, I always feel the need
(morally and ethically) to look through the product first; this allows
for me to write a good, compelling recommendation from the perspective
of someone who has acquired the product, as well as to make sure it's
something I want my subscribers to purchase (which I'm sure it is!). As
a result, I was wondering if you were able to give me a free product
review. This will make me feel much more confident when promoting, and
will definitely reflect with what I write.

I thank you for this opportunity, and hope to see success with your
    product.

    Sincerely,

    y

take out the the 3 dots at the end of your email and see if that clears it up.

For me I was having the same problem I had a sentence with ... at the end.

I took that out and emails went back to the inbox.

Hmm... My automated emails don't have dots, and I can't see how this'll trigger spam?

I'm going to be brutally honest with you.

there are a lot of things that could be wrong.

issue # 1 your list is too small to give you any real data.
you're not making money because 50 people isn't a list.

in most niches 10% open rate is above average. So that means in an above average setting only 5 people are going to open your emails. And since most emails that have a high clickthrough rate float around 30-40 percent...only getting 3 clicks is above average.

you're getting the exact percentage you should be.

issue #2 what email address are you mailing from?

issue #3 if your bounce rate is that high typically means people are dropping bogus emails to see on the other side of your capture page.

you might have to go back and change your lander. You're breaking trust somewhere or not gaining it enough to the point people feel they need to optin with valid data.

#issue 4. Without seeing the email itself there is no way to know whether you're setting off spam traps with the words you use in your emails.

issue #5 maybe you're sending from bad ips in fastmail

I could go on and on but without actually seeing it I can't pinpoint it exactly.

the first issue I would deal with is having real expectations. Realistically you're not going to make any money from so few names.

make sure your ads and your marketing is congruent with what your landing page says so people stop giving you fake emails so your bounce rate goes down.

look at the email address you're sending from..make sure its not blacklisted. You might need to rotate your send every few emails.

I don't think I need anymore subscribers to notice something terribly wrong.

I disagree, to be honest. I'm learning through a member here who expects much more clicks than a sheer 10%.

issue #2 what email address are you mailing from?
      name.surname@domainname.com

#issue 4. Without seeing the email itself there is no way to know whether you're setting off spam traps with the words you use in your emails.
