Do Marketers Use This Method?

I've heard of marketers sending traffic to a squeeze page and then once the visitor opts in, he/she is redirected to the landing page of an affiliate offer....

But do any marketers use the following method?

1. Send traffic to squeeze page
2. Once visitor opts in for freebie, send he/she to a landing page that "pre-sells" the affiliate offer. This landing page also offers a very valuable, very relevant bonus if the visitor buys the affiliate offer through my link.

Does anyone do this? Is it effective or is it overkill?

    While I've never done this personally, I've seen other landing pages set up like this and it doesn't seem like overkill to me, not by a long-shot.

    If there's a valuable and relevant bonus I would imagine it's even more effective than redirecting straight to the affiliate offer.

    IMO, it's not over-kill, and yes, many marketers do it.


    I'm not an expert email marketer, but I "believe" that it's better to include link to a download page to get their freebie than to put the download link directly in the email because the email service of your subscribers will see a clicked link in an email as a "positive" and will be less likely for your emails to be sent to a spam folder.


    Once you send someone to a download page, you may as well have some type of related offer for them on the download page.

    Depends upon the knowledge of the audience. Some sales pages have pretty stellar sales videos that give away free information as well, so that makes it a good bonus for an optin.

    What's nice about this technique is that it allows you to potentially monetize the folks who optin - if they end up buying in the future, you as the affiliate would get the commission.

    I think if the squeeze page offers a great freebie then the visitor is redirected to an awesome presell page with a super valuable bonus, he/she will be more likely to buy the affiliate offer?

    I'd really like to try this method....preparing an relevant optin freebie and then a relevant bonus for the presell page may take some time BUT the payoffs could be well worth it!

    I'm slowly learning that internet marketing is all about testing - it boils down to your ability to gain data, tweak campaigns, improve your CTR and your conversion rate.

      In MMO Niche ,I send them to a Thank you page and have a small introduction to who Iam. ( A picture with a couple of sentences) And tell them their free ebook is waiting in their inbox. And "btw", if they want to check out a fabulous program that they can jump start things with "go here"

    To work, just about any process will require feedback and adjustment.

    You can set something up. But you won't know how well or poorly it works until you run live traffic through it. Then you can collect data.

    Develop a baseline of expectations.

    Run the people through the funnel and collect data.

    Check your Planned vs Actual results.

    Adjust on the Traffic or Conversion side where necessary.

    Keep getting feedback and adjusting until it works.

    Almost anything will work...if you stick with it long enough.

    You just had a visitor interested in getting more information about your offer. They are ready to buy and are willing to give you some of their valuable time.

    Why in the world would you just collect their email address and end the process there?? A lot of people opt in, but NEVER even download your free gift.

    It just makes sense after they have opted in to say: "Thanks, your free gift is on the way, but WHILE you are in buying mode, quickly check out this cool offer...."

    This will also help to immediately recover your advertising costs.
