Geolocation Email API

Hi!

I apologize in advance if this question has been answered before; I searched the forums but not luck.

I am looking to implementing Geotargeting email campaigns. I am hoping someone here can help me find/point me towards a Geolcation API for email.

I talked with our email campaign service provider and they mentioned that company's that offer this service (MailChimp) are likely to be leveraging a 3rd party API. I could not find anything on their site in reference to this maybe someone here knows?

    I'm nit sure I'm following exactly what it is your trying to accomplish?

    Do you want to append the location to each email address you have or you just want to redirect users based on their location or you want to start collecting the info at the time of the opt-in?

    I personally use a database from IP Address Geolocation to Identify Geographical Location and custom built the app that I needed.

    I think most APIs are going to charge you, so this made much more sense, because of data size.

      Hi! I am looking to schedule email campaigns during the times when individuals from a particular geographic location is most likely to interact with our emails. For example, NY emails vs. CA emails would be scheduled 3 hours apart; however, I need to find a means to segment bulk emails based on geolocation before I can do this. Does this make sense? Do you know of a way to do this? Or perhaps another 'standard' method?

      Thanks for the IP Location link; I'll forward it to my email campaign provider after a bit more research and see if this is something they can work with.

        Do all your email address contain the IP of the user?

        So you want to split your lists up into time zone files.

        If all addresses have IP, then it can easily be done.

    If you user Interspire, Maborak has an addon that generates the location data. It consumes a massive amount of data in the database so I turned it off.
