Alternatives to Mailchimp

Hi there,
We are currently using Mailchimp at OneSite, since it was free until you reach 2000 subscribers. Then they have some weird pay as you go thing, which is quite expenive. For instance, you need to pay $60 to send 2000 emails. They also have monthly subscriptions, but we usually send an email every few months, so this ends up not being worth it either.
Any one knows of a cheaper alternative to Mailchimp?

Thank youuu

Have a look at Mailer Lite - https://www.mailerlite.com/pricing. I considered it a good option as they not only charge reasonable prices, their service is excellent too. check it out.

Prices are similar to those on Mailchimp I think.
We weren't looking for a monthly subscription, but for a software that allows you to have unlimited subscribers, and only pay when you send an email.

I use an app called MailDesigner which includes a built-in mailing service. Be advised that your list must be opt-in, or your account will be cancelled, almost anywhere.

        Hi,
Isn't MailDesigner just to design the newsletter?
And what do you mean with having the list opt-in, exactly?

Looking through my apps as I was pretty sure that was the one. It was "Mail - something or other." I'm sure a Google search would help you.

You can't just use any list you have compiled by scraping or purchasing. They need to have agreed to receiving your email, in advance of you sending it. Otherwise, you are spamming people. Obviously if you have had dealings with them in the past, that is another story.

    Hi,

I use ActiveTrail. I am enjoying their service right now. It is cheaper than mailchimp, as you can send unlimited emails for just $24 for up to 2500 contacts, and $38 for up to 5000 contacts.

Super interesting, that's exactly what I was looking for!
A software that allows you to send bulk mails to your subscribers, for a very little price (I don't understand why it needs to be so expensive)

    Hi,

I think you need to reconsider @jinmin's mailerlite suggestion. You can just pay for the service on the month you will send email then cancel subscription. You can verify this with their site's chat service.

    "Hi there,
Yes, you can cancel subscription anytime and then later purchase again.
    No data will be lost.
    Best regards,

So will definitely use mailerlite I think guys

Performance-wise, is it better than Mailchimp?

As they are muuuuch cheaper than Mailchimp, so I don't see why anyone would use Mailchimp

Please elaborate what you are trying to say. I can't tell if you are saying not to use an SMTP service or your trying to imply that there is a way to mail without ever connecting to the recipient domain smtp, in order to deliver a message?

I must admit that since you state "or any of the known methods out there" that I am concerned you are trying pass off some BS.
