Blasting MLM offers vs Selling Solo-Ads

Solo ad sellers don't develop a relationship with their list, they just send offers.

I have never been a fan of the solo ad model, and I have looked into it. IMO, they don't make enough per click and you have to sell a mailing in order to make any money. So there is the added expense of having to promote the business.

I have heard some say that if they don't sell a mailing then they will send an affiliate offer out. However, if that was working better for them then why would they continue to try and sell mailings.

Anyway, if you want to not have to develop a relationship with a list and still make good money, promote PPL(pay per lead...lead generation) offers.

The reason why marketers try and develop a relationship with there list is so that the user knows, likes and trusts them. That way they will be more open / likely to buy from them.

With PPL offers you are not trying to sell anything, and there is nothing for the user to buy. All the user has to do is fill out a form and you make money. Additionally, since your basically sending free offers, conversion rates are typically much higher than offers that require a sale be made.

So, since you are not trying to sell anything, there is no need to develop a relationship with the list. At least not by sending content like most marketers do it.

This is what I have been doing for the past 16+ years.

I favor offers that have a make get or save money benefit to them. This is what has overall worked best for me and they tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience). So the potential exist to produce high volume and cross promoting offers is fairly easy.

Some of the verticals that I have done very well with are: insurance, education, assistance, debt, mortgage, credit, loans, homeowner offers, etc...

To generate traffic I don't bother with building opt-in lists, I purchase fresh / targeted data. Then I just match the target to a relevant offer. So if I'm getting auto insurance data, then I send an auto insurance offer. If it's education data, then I send an education offer, etc...

I also get rev-share data which basically the same data, but instead of having to pay any money upfront for it, I split the revenue generated from mailing it with the list providers.

I also generate real time time co-reg which I target specific PPL offers. Lastly, I buy aged / domain targeted data, but this requires additional tools and resources to do it profitably.

Since I'm not developing my own target lists the quality is lower, but it is cheaper and far more scalable. So it's really not an issue. However, you want to always be segmenting the openers / clickers and removing the unresponsive users. That way you are essentially converting the data from quantity to quality.

So I'm basically just monetizing the data sending PPL offers, because they offer the path of least resistance to generating conversions and converting the data into cash producing assets.

Obviously there is more that goes into it, but it really does work and done right can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part do 6-7 figures. While that is a huge range, much comes down to ones ability to scale and effectively build/manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

Anyway, something to think about.

uhh, that's yet another angle to research. I am already researching 2 or 3 things.

Anyway, I am guessing that you are sending bulk email to the list that didn't opt-in on auto-responder. If that's the case, I guess its very difficult and expensive to avoid spam filters etc.

It just seems to me that its very difficult to sell $250 MLM offer like Aspire or Empower network. I guess that it is much easier to sell WorriorPlus or JVZoo offer for $7-27.0 bucks.
