Mailchimp - changing regular campaign to automated?
Hi,
I'm new to Mailchimp, I'm not a developer, and I don't have an API set up yet. I have a paid membership website focused on pregnancy, so I capture due date and calculate the "week of pregnancy" for each user. Since I do not have an API set up yet, I need to manually import all new users into mailchimp.
I want to send weekly emails to my subscribers, based on their week of pregnancy (so each user would receive emails at different points, depending on their week and when they join).
I am having some difficulty figuring how to set this up via an automated campaign right now with the triggers. Since I'm manually importing the list, the "week of pregnancy" is static, unless I go in update it every week to advance all of my current users to the next week. I originally thought setting the trigger to "week of = x" would work, but I don't think it will if my subscriber list remains static.
I'm having a baby in 2.5 weeks and have a lot to do before then with my business (more than just this mailchimp campaign). This campaign involves 36 emails. Can i just set them up as regular campaign emails right now, so the content is done, and then switch/add them to an automated campaign once I figure out how to set it up correctly? I want to create the emails so that worse case scenario, I can go in and manually send them to the users. I don't want to go through the process of creating all of these emails and then have to re-create them if i cannot move them into an automated campaign.
Any help would be appreciated on this issue...again, since I'm having a baby soon, there will be several weeks where I need something as simple as possible - I'm not going to be able to manually adjust lists, advance weeks, re-import lists, etc. on a regular basis with a newborn. I need an easy short-term solution for someone else to be able to do to cover for me as new users come in.
My short-term goal is to get these emails created so that they are ready to send to my users (before my pregnancy). The long-term goal is to automate them, and the long-long term goal is to set up the API.
I'm a newbie here, so there might be a totally obvious way to do the automated campaign that I don't know about.
