Email & contact managing / tracking software

I run a very small online business and I'm looking for a better way to manage my contacts and the emails I send. I'm starting to contact people to discuss partnerships / marketing ideas and it's a bit difficult to keep track of everything. Currently, I do the tracking using an excel spreadsheet but it's far from being ideal.

I'm looking for an app / software / website that can help me with:
- creating a list of contacts with enough fields so I can save important info about each of them
- keep track of what emails I send to each contact and when emails were sent so it can remind me to send follow-ups after x days
- keep in memory some pre-written emails (so I dont have to copy past from a word document each time) that I can easily send

In addition, I must be able to connect my professional email address (hosted by my webhost) to the software to manage and send emails directly in it using my pro email.
Finally, if there is a way to easily import all my contacts from linkedin within the app, it's even better.

I've tried a few CRMs (hubspot, etc) but they tend to be overly complicated or they don't offer exactly what I'm looking for (and are sometimes very expensive). Are you aware of any software that could do the work?

Thanks

You are asking for an app/service/site with multiple specific features...AND easy to use...AND free.

The 'free' is why no one is answering - you need a good autoresponder but sounds like you don't want to pay for it.

If you are running a business there are certain tools you need to invest in if you want to use automation. That is the reality.

I agree, than let's put the free on the side. Still looking for something not to complicated to use but that has the features mentioned previously.

I've tried Pipedrive, but it seems like it's not possible to natively have reminders and automatic follow-up emails
I also tried Close, which has great email features (email sequence and reminders) but I don't like how things are presented (contacts are necessarily parts of companies entered as leads). Also for some reason, I'm not able to see my emails within the app.

I'm answering my own question in case someone else was also looking for a similar tool. After trying quite a few CRMs (Hubspot, Close, Agile CRM, etc), I ended choosing Salesmate. The layout is on point with what I need (clear and clean) and it provides all the features you can think of from other CRMS (email sequence, automation, etc).

It sounds like something similar to Aweber, even the free version, would do all or most of this. Have you tried that?

I haven't looked at it but it seems more oriented towards campaign marketing (which I'm already handling with MailPoet via my website directly). Here, I'm more looking for a simple way to manage my contacts and my interactions with them. But again, haven't looked at it yet so I may be wrong! I'll definitely check it

What about Outlook? Lots of people use Outlook with its calendar, contacts, etc. as a simple CRM system. They use to have an add on for just that purpose. If you don't want to use it on the desk/laptop, the online version may work.

I work at Techloyce, a customer relationship management system. The 'Starter' tier is ideal for managing contacts and contains the most of our reporting and pipeline management tools.
Any "free" solution, such as Hubspot, should be avoided. They either don't have any features you'll need to work your leads, or they charge a lot for them. (If you want to add on reports, Hubspot charges $200 per month, according to my research.) Before making any decision you can also discuss with a Hubstop partner agency.
