Listbuilding confusion?

Hello,

After some reading and as a beginner, I am on the path of building a list as my first goal.

Just a bit lost on the way...

I have read and watched videos on how to set everything up, but I think i missed the part on where to get these subscribers.
So now I have a good understanding of building a squeeze page and creating a valuable product as a free giveaway. I have decided to use leadpages to create a squeeze page and use Getresponse as my email marketing tool. Going to get my email series setup and everything else in between.......

But after I setup my funnel to getting subscribers to my list to monetize in the future, where and how will I effectively gain these subscribers.

Will I setup a website in my niche and have the optin form on there, or will I use PPC or PPV and send them straight to my squeeze page, or create a tutorial video on youtube and put the link to my squeeze page.......

    You named a few sources to where you can gain your subscribers! You can also use Solo Ads, Media Buys and a whole other slew of places... Finding traffic is not the problem, it's drilling down to make sure that the traffic you are getting is targeted to the offer/lead magnet that you will be offering.

    Good choice on GetResponse.

    But we can't give you a TON of info about where to get subscribers.

    Here's some general advice though...

    Buy traffic.

    You mentioned PPV. That's a great source for list building - but you can lose a LOT of money if you don't do a lot of experimentation.

    I once went through about $2k in a week or so and only ended up with about 500 subscribers because I wasn't paying attention. What a waste.

    So by all means, buy your traffic - just make sure you watch conversions closely and tweak as you move along.

      I have always thought about PPV as a traffic source for building a list. But Would a pop up be effective for getting targeted subscribers, or would a pay per click system be better? seeing as people would click on an ad instead of seeing an unwanted pop up.

    You're on the right track using LEAD PAGES as this takes away all the hassle
    of designing a professional lead capture page.

    You can add and TEST various titles to see which one converts best so you
    can then run with that one and scale up your numbers using paid traffic sources.

    What you need to so is find a PAID offer first and then create your free gift
    around that by creating a TOP 10 tips video or report for example.

    The offer that via your lead capture page so that when people opt in they will
    be taken to your paid offer right away and are already WARM to something that
    is extremely related to what they've opted in for.

    As for getting them onto your lists you can use Click Banking or Adswaps as a
    way to do swaps with other marketers to build your lists and of course use PPC
    or buy Solo Ads too.

      Not really familiar with click banking, but I'll look into it. For ad swaps I am really skeptical, I don't have much experience in it, also I have a feeling that it is only good in the Internet marketing niche.
