Mailchimp - I'm going mad!

Hey all,

I'm hoping some experts here can put me out of my misery. I have a paid mailchimp account so all options are open, and just to add, I'm pretty savvy usually and can get my way around most things, but I'm seriously missing something fundamental here.

I have a site with a list and a form associated with it, all is well and working.

I want to add another form to the site for which will be for a free giveaway downloadable file. Mailchimp recommends that I should use groups opposed to setting up separate lists which makes sense and will hopefully cut down on any duplications.

I have been playing around and watched dozens of video's but cannot seem to figure this out.

I've created a new group within my list, but if I try and add a new form it just overrides my generic live sign up form. I cannot also find any option to select the group I wish the collected emails to go into. I've set up an autoresponder, created a template and links with to deliver my content but haven't even got to that stage yet. I just can't seem to find how to connect these altogether.

I realise I'm having a total dumb moment here, but am utterly frustrated that I can't seem to do this simple task.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

Ok, I think I've managed to do it via segments and creating the form via my wordpress plugin. I guess I have to wait an hour of so to see if the mail comes through correctly.

Would still love to here anyone who has experience in setting these up as I'm sure it really shouldn't seem so complex, or this just me being a newbie? Or is why infusionsoft is the real answer?

    thanks again
