| Re: My Personal Challenge - Make $500 by October 1st Via ClickBank and Article Syndication
Good and encouraging news today! I got 1 sale of product #1 so I made roughly $18 as a commission...and after emailing me I got them onto my buyer's list and off the 'freebie list'...this sale might just be a fluke but it's definitely very motivating and encouraging... This has made me think about getting the CB List Automator tool that automates the process of people getting their free bonus(es) after purchasing a CB product through an affiliate...it costs $47 though so it will be tough on my very tight budget... But I'm going to remedy that by selling a few things on eBay I have lying around the house...and obviously any money I make I will reinvest back into my budding IM business as needed. Anyway, today I got 77 visitors to my site and 19 more opt-ins. Moreover, I emailed 41 website owners today, and I actually got a response from some website owners, 5 to be exact, and 4 of them weren't interested in getting content at all but 1 might be interested so I'll be following up with that publisher. Furthermore, I created 3 new messages for my 'freebie' list autoresponder series and I'm working on a 4th...I'd like to have 5 new messages total done before I go to bed. Likewise, now that I have someone on my buyer's list I'm also going to need to add messages to that autoresponder series as well... But the overall conclusion I'm able to draw from my challenge is that this is a long term strategy and that I'm not going to get to my goal of $500 by October 1st...however, I'm still going to continue to move forward because I see the potential... And like I said in 1 of the posts above I'm probably going to continue with this challenge by creating a new thread with a new goal...haven't quite made up my mind yet. |

Today was not a very productive day... I created 2 messages for my freebie list autoresponder series and 2 messages for my buyer's list autoresponder series... Also, I emailed 15 website owners. As for my stats...I got 54 visitors to my website today and 6 subscribers... |

Good job! You've got better conversions from opt-ins to sales than me, because I don't have any yet. Also, I'm using a squeeze page so that's probably why your opt-in rate is lower. When I get people to my blog the opt-ins for the sidebar and after post forms are around 5%.

But I won't know if it was a fluke or if I just got "lucky" to get the sale until I get more subscribers I think... Also, not certain what you mean by "after post forms" but I have my opt-in form on the homepage front and center and above the fold...basically in the area where the first post goes on a blog...and I have an opt-in on the right side bar of my site as well... And because I'm using Wordpress my site is a blog but it's not going to be updated nearly as frequently as a blog nor will dates be posted so that the website doesn't look outdated so if I do stop posting new content in the future the site isn't interpreted as "dated" and/or abandoned because of post dates... Anyway, please feel free to keep me posted on your progress with article syndication and good luck to you.

Today I was a little lazy and I only emailed 30 website owners and I only added 1 email message a piece for my freebie list and my buyers' list... Also, today the new website owner that said she would publish my article on Monday did actually publish it and it brought in 29 visitors to my website...hard to tell how many subscribers resulted from those 29 visitors because I got 67 visitors from the 1st website that published 1 of my articles back on Friday... Anyway, I did get a total of 11 subscribers today...so I now have a grand total of 53 subscribers since Friday. Likewise, my opt-in is at 16% as of now, which is good because warrior Alexa Smith has commented that she's happy with anything above 10% and that she's ecstatic when her opt-in rate on a content-rich site is at 20%... But right now my numbers aren't large enough to draw any serious conclusions in this moment and time...I just feel that I'm doing pretty decent to start... Moreover, Ezinearticles has approved articles 6 and 7 of the 7 additional articles I created in addition to the first 3 I started with for a total of 10 articles approved by Ezinearticles...so I have a "portfolio" of 10 articles... Now I can start using my 'complete' Ezinearticles profile when I contact website owners/publishers to give the impression of being serious and more professional...and hopefully I will be taken more seriously by website owners/publishers... |

I have a plugin that puts an opt-in form on my sidebar above the fold and also one at the end of each post, so if someone read my whole post and liked it they don't have to scroll back up to the sidebar to opt-in. These two forms have a combined opt-in rate of about 5%. I can do some minor tweaking to code but it's not something I'm that good at. I haven't taken the time to figure out how to get a form "front and center" like Alexa suggests. I also have a separate squeeze page that I need to make more content rich. No sales from 27 hops, but all of those came from my thank you page, I don't even have my sequence complete yet and none of the emails I have yet promote a product. |

Today I got a Google Alert that alerted me to the 3rd website owner that said she would publish 1 of my articles either Tuesday or Wednesday had in fact done so today. So my stats for today were: - From the 1st website that ever published my article I received 59 visitors to my website... - From the 2nd website that published 1 of my articles on Monday I received 34 visitors... - And the website that published 1 of my articles today I received 16 visitors... All of the above totaled 109 visitors and resulted in 13 subscribers...now I have a grand total of 66 subscribers... As for what I accomplished today, I emailed 46 website owners and I created 2 new messages for both my 'freebie' list and my buyers' list... Also, I sent out a few emails to reconnect with website owners that haven't replied to my initial email...and I got responses from a few website owners that I've emailed in the past...none of them were interested in getting content from me...so that was a bit of bad news... |

Where are you finding your 'website owners' in your niche to contact and publish your articles? I use a website called My Blog Guest, but the response rate is abysmal there. |

The vast majority of websites I contact don't even post that they accept guest posts or that they even want outside content writers...so the majority are going to say 'no' but there will be a few that say 'yes' if they like/want your content... But I think the key is not only does your content have to be informative, good and information that isn't widely available all over the internet but it's also got to be INTERESTING and not a dull read... The following is a post that I think might be a little helpful to you that is by warrior Alexa Smith about article syndication...the example she uses in her post of a title/article topic gives you a very broad idea of how article syndication works... http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5035794

Hey, I see you are reaching out to new website owners every day, but why don't you reconnect with the webmasters that already published your articles? Send them a new article every week or so and it will probably result in more traffic and subscribers.. Also, I'm not sure about the products you're promoting but it will probably make you more $$$ if you concentrate on promoting products that will pay you at least $100 (I believe that's what Alexa was doing anyway). $500 = only 5 sales. It could very well be a membership type website that pays you $10 a month and has a retention rate higher than 10 months - that's $100 and probably an easy sell in some niches. Gabriel |

Plus the 2nd product in my 'sales funnel' that I will promote to my buyers' list is a $147 product that I will get roughly $67 as a commission for... But more importantly for me is that I promote products to my subscribers that are good and will actually work...don't get me wrong I want to make as much as I possibly can but not at the expense of promoting crappy products to my subscribers just because I would make higher commissions... Also, for the particular niche I'm in the 2 products I'm promoting are products I can really and truly stand behind... Moreover, I will be sending the website owners that have agreed to syndicate my articles new articles as I create them and now that all 10 of the articles I have thus far are indexed on my site I can offer 9 more articles to the website owners as well...that's the main reason why I'm doing this in the first place.

| Re: My Personal Challenge - Make $500 by October 1st Via ClickBank and Article Syndication
Good news today...I got another sale of product #1...the bad news is that the person didn't opt-in to get the free bonus for some reason so they're not on my buyers' list...in the very near future I'll be purchasing CB List Automator that will remedy this problem... Anyway, here's today's breakdown of traffic and the number of subscribers it resulted in me getting... - 1st website = 47 visitors - 2nd website = 26 visitors - 3rd website = 12 visitors And of these 85 visitors I got 9 subscribers...not great but not horrible... As for what I got accomplished today...I emailed 35 website owners and I created 2 new messages for both my 'freebie' list and my buyers' list... Plus as warrior gabibeowulf reminded me in the post above, I contacted the 3 website owners who have already syndicated my content about syndicating more of my content...they only saw the first 3 articles so I sent an email with a link to my Ezinearticles profile with all 10 of my articles stating that if they want to use more of my content to feel free to use any of those articles... The 1st website owner already got back to me stating that she would like to use 3 more of my articles and that she will publish 1 per week of those 3 starting next week...the 2nd website owner only wants to use 2 of my articles and will be publishing both of them some time next week...the 3rd website owner hasn't gotten back to me but I'm confident she will use at least 1 more article of mine... So my plan is to create an article every 2 weeks and to email it to them once it's been indexed on my own site first...I know that they won't necessarily be interested in every article I create but that's okay other website owners that I hopefully get on my syndication list might be... Moreover, I got replies from website owners about syndicating my content and all of them said no with the exception of 2...but 1 of them stated that they won't be using my content for a few weeks out because they have other content in their "cue"...hopefully they don't forget about me but if they do I'll just send a friendly reminder...the other website owner wants to use 3 of my articles and the 1st article of the 3 that they want to use will be published to their site on Monday. Very good day all-in-all...but my biggest gripe with myself is that I need to get better organized... Also, tomorrow I will be putting a few items on eBay to generate a few dollars so I can pay for my web hosting, Aweber and to purchase CB List Automator for $47...I don't know why I didn't think of putting some stuff on eBay earlier to help with my very limited budget...I'm thinking I might even switch to self-hosted email so I can get used to using it... I've heard some pretty good things about self-hosted email not to mention it's a lot cheaper, especially when you start generating a large number of subscribers, plus I like the idea of having more control over my BIGGEST asset in this business...my list. |

I really enjoy your journey and wish you all the best.. You're off to a great start, I hope you won't burn out along the way (sometimes it's hard to be constant in your work). Here's what I think you can improve with your current plan: * Turn your articles into PDFs and syndicate them to every document accepting website out there * Make a small brandable video intro on fiverr, and read your articles in front of the camera. Once you have a good looking video, post it on youtube * Make a slide and submit to slide sharing sites * Transform your articles into how-to tutorials and submit to tutorials website Rinse and repeat for each article. On your website, post more content - at least one article a day that either presells new products (or monetize with adsense). If you build a sizable list, you'll make some decent coin with Adsense alone. As for organizing, I recommend Pomodoro technique: Pomodoro Technique - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .. and you will find a lot of free software online to help you follow the technique (like the one below): focus booster - download focus booster now; try the pomodoro technique Gabriel |

| Re: My Personal Challenge - Make $500 by October 1st Via ClickBank and Article Syndication
What I like most about article syndication is the leverage it affords me without having to create a ton of content...and if I tried to follow the plan you mapped out I would definitely get burned out lol... Not to mention I really don't have any interest in monetizing with Adsense...I would much rather focus my energy on building a list and promoting affiliate products to my list...I figure that putting Adsense on my site would be a bit counterproductive toward this goal... The plan I'm following is fairly simple and doesn't require a whole ton of time once I completed the initial set up, i.e., creating the 10 articles, creating the first 10 messages for both my autoresponder series, creating the 2 websites, etc...the set up was really the hardest part about it... Currently the most tedious part of my plan now that I've set everything up is finding appropriate websites to contact and keeping track of who I've contacted and what they're response was...but the plus side to article syndication is that a little content goes a long way...as long as that content is informative and interesting content. So creating content for my website on a daily basis is actually not necessary (although I'm still going to create content as often as I possibly can for both of my subscriber lists)... I mean no disrespect to you, I just really want to stick to my plan because: 1. I've been really bad in the past about not sticking to a plan and jumping from strategy to strategy... 2. I don't want to get overwhelmed... 3. I want to "master" (or at least be proficient at) article syndication before doing other things... Thanks again for your posts. Brittany

Today's stats breakdown like this: - 1st website I received 39 visitors to my site... - 2nd website I received 28 visitors to my site... - 3rd website I received 11 visitors to my site... So of the 78 visitors that visited my site today 9 of them subscribed to my list... Furthermore, the 3rd website owner that syndicated 1 of my articles has said that she will syndicate 2 more of my articles next week...1 article on Monday and the other on Thursday... Moreover, today I emailed 30 website owners (my daily minimum)...thus far I've been emailing website owners that are "kinda sorta" related to my niche because I didn't want to contact website owners that would be considered competitors... But I'm thinking if I want a better response to my emails that I need to really sit down and figure out more targeted keyword phrases I can type into Google to find more website owners who will say 'yes' and to get more targeted subscribers... I know I'm off to a decent start but I think I could be doing much better as far as the number of syndication partners I get if I were contacting websites that were a bit more targeted to my specific niche...my concern is that these "more targeted" websites would perceive me as a competitor...but the only way to truly know if this will be the case is to do it and see what happens... I'll still continue on with some of the "less" targeted keyword phrases I've been typing into Google search to find websites but I'll mix in some keyword phrases that are more targeted as well in the hopes that I'll get more website owners to say 'yes' and subscribers that are more targeted... Also, I got some replies from website owners today but the replies were to either say 'no' to my offer or website owners who wanted "unique" content...something that I'm not really interested in providing at this moment in time... And I created 1 new message for both of my subscriber lists... As for selling a few items on eBay to generate a few bucks...I've postponed that to Saturday because I'll have more time...just didn't feel up to dealing with eBay today but I know I'll have time for it on Saturday (unless something comes up)... |

It's blatantly obvious I'm not going to get anywhere near my target of $500 by October 1st...being that to date I've only earned $36 in CB commissions...BUT I'm glad I started this challenge because it helped me to get my a** in gear. So I'm thinking of continuing with this challenge but raising my goal to $1000 and pushing the deadline (obviously) to December 1st...I might even boost that goal to $2000 so it's a little more difficult but realistic/attainable...haven't quite made up my mind yet... |

| Re: My Personal Challenge - Make $500 by October 1st Via ClickBank and Article Syndication
Good new...another sale of product #1 today! So that brings my total to $54 in commissions...a far cry from the $500 goal I set for myself but not a horrible start...and now I have 2 buyers on my buyer's list (this 3rd person signed up for the bonus...still don't know why the 2nd person didn't)... As for today's traffic stats they are as follows: - 1st website = 23 visitors to my website - 2nd website = 6 visitors to my website - 3rd website = 0 visitors to my website Of the 29 visitors to my website 4 subscribed...now I'm at a grand total of 99 subscribers. And to date I've emailed exactly 612 website owners (had to go through this thread and do the math...I should probably keep track of the actual number of website owners I contact as well...) and only 5 of them have agreed to syndicate my content...with 3 of them that have done so...1 of them will for the first time tomorrow and the 5th person will in the coming weeks supposedly... So as far as the percentage of people that use my articles out of the number that I contact it's not too good but I'm not necessarily going to give up on the ones that have said 'no' just yet...I'm going to try and follow what warrior myob says in the following posts: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6275570 http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6276526 http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6276861 http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6279659 (unfortunately I'm not achieving this but I'm certainly trying lol) Not exactly certain of how to go about communicating with website owners/publishers who have already said 'no' but I guess a bit of trial and error is going to be necessary... I should probably do what warrior myob suggests in the following recent post he just made (at least to start) and do a few exclusive articles so I can tell future website owners that I've been published elsewhere and just tell them where: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8560759 Moreover, today I didn't get as much as I would've liked accomplished...I emailed 30 website owners...and reconnected with 30 that haven't replied back to my email... However, I'm looking forward to tomorrow because the 3rd website is going to publish 1 of my articles and the new 4th website will be publishing 1 of my articles for the 1st time as well on Monday. I'm going to be hopefully putting stuff on eBay tomorrow (or I should say later today) so I can raise some much needed funds...but my biggest expense is probably going to be a new laptop because the 1 I'm currently using has been having some issues for several weeks now (it was a real pain in the a** today especially)...but I'm fairly confident that I can squeeze a few more months out of it before it completely goes... Last, I've decided on the goal of my next challenge---$1500 by December 1st. I'm going to create the thread on October 2nd but it might take a few days to be approved so if you don't see any posts from me for the first couple of days it's more than likely because the thread hasn't been approved yet. |

Today's stats: - 1st website = 17 visitors to my website - 2nd website = 8 visitors to my website - 3rd website that published another 1 of my articles today = 9 visitors to my website - 4th website (new syndication partner ) = 4 visitors to my website Of the 38 visitors to my site today 4 subscribed...so the 4th website didn't bring in a really good number of visitors to my site but they seem like a relatively new site so as they increase their traffic (hopefully) the traffic I get from their site will increase over time as I provide them with more content... Also, I got a Google Alert on a site that published 1 of my articles through Ezinearticles but unfortunately it resulted in no traffic from their site to mine...nonetheless, I still contacted them about whether they'd be interested in getting content from me periodically...I figure that it's possible in the future that this site could bring me traffic to my site despite not doing so immediately and/or with the first article of mine they published...you never know... Unfortunately, I didn't really get anything done because I stayed up all night and some of this morning reading through new and old WF threads about article syndication, and reading posts by warriors Alexa Smith, myob, Joseph Robinson, JohnMcCabe and tpw to gain more insight about article marketing and IM matters in general... Needless to say I was extremely tired today and I actually caught a bad cold...both things adding up to knock me on my a** and that contributed to me being so unproductive today...that and fooling around on the computer to make matters worse... Anyway, I only contacted 20 website owners today and I went another day without creating more messages for both my autoresponder series... Moreover, tomorrow marks the last day of my challenge to get to $500 but I'm obviously going to fall well short of my goal of $500 since I only managed to earn about $54...but I still don't regret doing this challenge...I got quite a bit done and I think that I'm going to be able to build on what I've done and hopefully start seeing more commissions coming in with my subscribers numbering 103 on the 'freebie' list and 2 on the buyer's list (1 for some reason didn't subscribe)... Also, today I managed to get a few items up on eBay so that will help me with getting some much needed funds... Thanks to all who read and kept up with this thread and for the people who posted on this thread...I will officially start the thread for my next challenge on October 2nd BUT it may take a few days for it to be approved.... |

Hi brittlesnc, What email provider were you using when you emailed the 612 website owners mentioned above? I'm about to purchase AWeber and just want to make sure that emailing 30-50 website owners per day is okay. It seems that if you individually contact each owner, you are okay. But I could see how someone could still spin that as spam. Appreciate your updates. Good luck and best wishes to reaching your new goal. Tom |

I don't think she was using Aweber or anything like that to contact website owners. You can contact them with any of your normal email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, or email provided by your web host. Aweber is best used for your customers once they have opted in to your list. |

Perhaps this course by Paul Myers will help you out (it's the best I've read in terms of article syndication): The Content Cash System Gabriel |

Today's stats (and the final stats for this thread): - 1st website = 9 visitors to my website - 2nd website = 5 visitors to my website - 3rd website = 7 visitors to my website - 4th website = 2 visitors to my website And out of the 23 visitors to my website 3 subscribed to my list... Unfortunately I have a seriously bad cold and a high fever so it made it hard for me to work today BUT I did...mostly I sent emails to website owners that I didn't get a response from in the past...and I emailed 20 new website owners as well but I didn't create any new messages for either of the autoresponder series... So at the conclusion of this challenge I made $54 in commissions and I have 106 subscribers on my 'freebie' list and 2 subscribers on my buyer's list... Tomorrow I will start my new thread but it will probably take a few days to be approved...also I'm sick so I might be taking it easy for the next couple of days...I'm feeling really sick and really lousy unfortunately... |

great start. there are lots of stuffs to learn and make it better. I believe that's a good start for first few months. I do not expect any money in first few months from site I develop. There was a time I developed a site a day lol... then I reached 100+ and burned out. Anyways they are paying me good money today. It's worth it.

Hi, how's your personal challenge? This is a great idea and i like to have my own threat like this also. I am just new here but soon i will create my own personal challenge. I am just curious with clickbank. I was a member there for so long and did some ads but no result. I am looking for ideas here. Hope to have some.
