Both AWeber and Getresponse are good, and what most marketers seem to use.

Having tried both, I do think GetResponse is less restrictive than AWeber, and it caters more to internet marketers.

Yes. If you are serious you won't waste your time with them.

Free autoresponders are ad-sponsered, which means the AR company sends it's ads to your subscribers with every message you send.

If you can't afford the $20 per month then you are not ready to start marketing.

I couldn't agree more with Brent. If you are serious with your business then you should also serious with your investment including among other is your autoresponder. In my opinion paid autoresponders like Aweber or GetResponse give a lot more reliable results than free autoresponders.

I've been using Aweber daily, since around 2011 with hardly a hiccup.

Other than their DDOS incident a few summers back... (Or was that last summer?).

The reality is that DDOS attacks can cripple almost any company though, so I don't hold that against them.

Regarding free Autoresponders, Listwire and Imnicamail come to mind.

A good Wordpress solution is Rapid Mailer. It does take some set up, but it is very powerful.
