Recommended by many people who use the Wordpress platform. Plan on switching from hostgator once I learn more about linux system administration

Is it worth the hassle? I've had my own server and used VPS in the past and you have to either pay a lot for a managed solution or spend time updating etc which could be better spent doing Internet Marketing.
