List of Ultimate tools we use

I thought it might be a useful resource to share what tools we use and why. I’ll start.

Organisation & Productivity
Evernote: a dumping ground for making notes for each client when I think of them
Wunderlist (web, mobile): for ordering my to do items
Google Docs: particularly Sheets for keeping track of invoices, expenses
Dropbox: for sharing getting clients to share files with me
Asana: for basic project management / to do list
Freshbooks: for bookkeeping, totally need to migrate to heavier duty now, but it’s been making my life really great until now for invoicing etc

Marketing
GeResponse: For email marketing, autoresponders (was using Mailchimp but recently switched)
Unbounce: For creation of and hosting of Landing pages – but it doesn’t integrate with GetResponse

WordPress
Canvas : mainly for prototyping, but have used on client sites
White Label CMS: for simplifying and improving client experience
InfiniteWP: – self hosted management platform
BackupBuddy - migrating dev site to prod (as well as backups)
WordPress SEO (Yoast): for SEO goodness
Gravity Forms: for the best contact forms around
WooCommerce: making selling online simple and efficient
Erident to make custom login

who's next?

I use most of the above but love Xero – I gave up on MYOB several years ago, tried Sassu but abandoned that too. Xero is really neat for the single person operator – for invoices, statements plus it pulls in paypal, credit cards and virtually reconciles your accounts. Very easy to use compared to the other too. I also use a bookkeeper to help me set up rules for reconciliation and to keep me on track from time to time. Saves quite a bit of time and money on bookkeeping.
Unbounce and Get response is neat along with Gravity Forms and Zapier
Contractually and that is really neat too.
    Social Media Marketing
For online marketing I use Hootsuite to post to twitter, google plus and LinkedIn scheduled in advance. You can use Hootsuite to create lists and scan for interesting tweets about interesting articles or ideas to retweet, write about or send to your readers
In addition I use Manageflitter for twitter follower analysis
For sceduling Facebook posts and search for content to automatically schedule I use an app called Post Planner to schedule
A plugin called Evergreen Post Tweeter automatically tweets out older blog articles
