Hi all,
I'm new to this and quickly learned that you have to persuade your audience into buying your product (obviusly). My question is has anyone read "How to win friends and influence people" and been able to incorporate the teachings of Dale Carnegie into their squeeze pages or other online marketing efforts?

Yes, I have read the book several times. All marketers should treat it as required reading. The principles in the book are just as relevant today as they were when the book was published in the late 30's. Lots of things have changed in the environment and society but human nature and people skills don't seem to change much.

This book is very good, it's definitely worth the read. You can incorporate it's techniques into anything. It really gets to the very core of human communications and helps you stick to the effective basics you already know and combine them successfully.

  Good question: I read that book over and over again for a whole year back in 1982. I've never been the same.
  
  Here's some of the principles I like to keep in mind in not only my squeeze pages, marketing or forum post ... but my life.
  
  Here's a few off the top of my head that still stand out
  
  Talk in terms of the other persons interest
  
  Make the other person feel important
  
  Try to see things from the other persons point of view
  
  They're many more but those are the one's that instantly pop into my head.

1 tip that I learned is to give a reason why. When you give a reason why, people are more likely to listen to you.

It's a great read. He basically took the Golden Rule and expanded it into a book. If you own a business whether it be online or offline I would highly recommend it. I would have to respectfully disagree that his strategies are outdated.
