Is Internet Marketing This Simple?

Hello, Im new here and I want to do internet marketing.
Please correct me if im wrong, but this is what i see the process of internet marketing to be.


Ill give my audience great engaging content(blog post,video marketing,etc) that they will appreciate alot,it will be so informative that when i finish giving them this great content they will buy from me because i am an authorive figure in my niche/market and i know what im talking about. Meanwhile, I get traffic to my squeeze page also to capture emails from my target audience. After i have captured their email, send them helpful emails and then try to sale my product. Is that how money is being made in internet marketing? Please correct me if I am wrong.

  • This is one of the ways to make money through internet marketing but while it may seem simple in theory its not easy in practice.

    Its a lot of work and if you dont have the traffic or the stamina to keep going after being unsuccessful for months then its not for you.

      There are plenty of people who make money online by telling other people how simple it is and then sell them the products that allows them to do what you described in your post.

      For example I often see the following:

      "Making money online is so simple all you need to do is the following:
      1. Get web hosting here (affiliate link)
      2. Get landing page creation tool here (affiliate link)
      3. Get email list creation software here (affiliate link)
      4. Sign up for clickbank here (affiliate link)
      5. Sign up for advertising here (affiliate link or coupon code)
      6. Start advertising and make (me) money"

  • In short: there's more to it. You've highlighted some of the ingredients of one system:

    1. Niche website
    2. Informed content.
    3. Lead capture.
    4. Targeted traffic.

    I could write a volume of books to cover those 4 areas, and I'd only be writing about one small area of IM. Essentially, though, it sounds like you have a solid overall foundation.

  • Hi All... in my opinion is a simple but there are a lot of ways to earn money.. is there where people get lost...
    I agree with people here but if you want to keep things simple.. this is the simplest way I am able to conceive:
    1. Choose a niche
    2. Create a landing/squeeze page
    3. Offer an Unique Special Report on how to solve one problem (1 problem-1 solution report)
    4. Send Traffic/Build your list/Grow your List
    5. Email marketing/relationship-help people/money
    6. Repeat 4, 5, and 6

    1) Create A Landing Page
    2) Get Tons Of Traffic To Landing Page
    3) Create A Blog To Engage Subscribers
    4) Find A Affiliate Network & Balance Content/Offer Emails

  • yeah, that is basically it. You have a good basic understanding, time to do more learning if you wanna succeed though! oh, also, when you are learning, don't forget to implement, too many people just read and read and never try anything out..

  • I would say - the proven way is to find a product that sells online at Clickbank or similar products. A product that delivers the promise made on the sales page and has low number of cancellations. Then become an affiliate to the program. Your next step is to make an impressive landing page that will lead your traffic to the vendors page (you can build a list at the same time by offering a free related report). The final step is getting traffic to the page - paid or unpaid.

      But as I said in another Thread Simple does NOT necessarily mean Easy.

      The reason why we do not have a lot of millionaires because it can be difficult and a lot of work involved.

  • The basic 'concept' of Internet Marketing is simple but the learning and sharpening your skills takes time. You have a basic idea above in the start of your thread but now you will need to actually start putting in some 'action' to sharpen your skills.

    It isn't hard to learn but what is hard is having the 'patience' (with yourself) while you are learning.

    Another thought on this...

    Stay focused in (1) area long enough to learn it and eventually 'master' it.

    Try to not lose your focus & end up chasing too many different ideas.

  • I had the same mentality when I started, but when you take ACTION, you learn a lot more. I have since learned that Internet Marketing is not that simple! But first things first, take action NOW, as opposed to keep reading and reading. You will get somewhere shortly! Good Luck!

    And how a massive majority of people in the fitness niche think.

    "I've got huge muscles and shredded abs, no doubt about it people will fork money over to me"

    (I used to think that way, too)

    It just doesn't that work that way (especially in the beginning).

    Tons of people give out awesome & free information...

    Yet are flat out broke because they don't know how to ask for a damn sale...

    Or even worse, have negative connotations when it comes to selling and money.

  • It always comes down to this: Product + Traffic + Conversion = $$$$$.

    Always keep that formula as a centering weight in your mind, because internet marketing can be an infinite black hole of information.

    Figure out what product you are going to promote (your own or somebody else's). Then figure out a traffic method that plays to your strengths, and go about mastering it. And then test, test, test your website so its conversion and ROI keeps increasing.

    Try to resist getting bogged down in IM products telling you how to do this. Almost anybody could set up a site, drive traffic to it, and make conversions pretty quickly, but if you actually do it, then I daresay you'd be in the top 5%. Refine from there.

  • You have a very rudimentary view of one approach to Internet Marketing that, without implementation details, will earn you exactly the same online income as you're making right now.

    It's all about the details of your plan. Without proper action - doing the right things at the right time - your blueprint as is will make you nothing.

    • It all depends on your topic and whether your audience is the "buying" type. If you took 5 different topics and did the same steps of marketing for each of them, you will still have 5 completely different outcomes.

  • I have tried and failed before! Actually it is not so simple. Unless you are the renowned figure in the field, chance that you can make any money is slim.

    You should have the time and resources to go through the trial and error. There are newbies paid $10,000 just for the guru coaching.
  • Well, it is easier said than done but in reality you will be needing a lot of time, effort and patience to make money with internet marketing. Anyway, you will never know if you don't give it a try.

    Take Action and get started doing...

    After you get something started keep going even though you may not see immediate results (Hard Part)

    Test & Tweak and keep working it until you get conversions.

      Apart from all the rest of us, who have never been involved in any IM-related or MMO-related niches at all, and have no intention of being involved in them, you mean?

  • It is much harder than it sounds. Make sure you have a sold automated system that has tracking. Learn tracking, and how to build convertible funnels, then dial in on the traffic, you can follow up on email campaigns as you start building your list.

    Your question is internet marketing simple - YES and NO !

    You have the basics of one system or process of making money online, one that is simple in what you mentioned the concept, but actually carry it through to completion is a different story, this is where it becomes hard work, if you are not ready to work hard, and accept repeated failures till you succeed and going the slow path of free traffic vs paid traffic faster way to test what works and does not
