I have no content costs...should I get into flipping websites?

So I have 0 content costs.

Would it make fiscal sense to buy a desirable domain, seed it with 10-15 pieces of high-quality content and try to sell it? My only expenses would be hosting, logo design and a few more plugins.

Am I way off-base here? I know that these micro-sites wouldn't go for thousands.

Presumably, the domain would be PageRank 0, too.

Thanks for any insights!

Edit: I would put each site through an incubation period where I try to build natural backlinks to the content, but I probably wouldn't be using AdSense on them.

This would be a great way to start a long-term website for yourself, but in my opinion trying to sell a fresh website with some content but no sales isn't going to be very easy.

You're probably going to get people try to lowball you and offer you ridiculously low figures, simply because you don't have any sales track record and how little site buyers in general value content. I'm assuming you're not planning on driving any traffic to your site either, or ranking for any specific in-demand terms.

You could give it a shot, but prepare to be disappointed by how much you will be able to sell this site for. Brand new sites in general do not do all that well in the marketplace, from my observation.

Think you're right. Micro-sites + Amazon and I keep the profits long-term. Then once I have proof of income I can sell them off if the endeaver becomes tiresome.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

You're missing out one important factor: Income.

Yes, you can make an awful lot of money by developing websites, but they need to be income sites. If you can do that, then I say go right ahead. It's a fantastic business model.

Tom says it all really. Without income, an experienced buyer wouldn't touch the site. Where is the ROI...
