Marketing and value.
We were unconditioned, we weren't skeptical, and we didn't know any better than to question it.
Back then, millions went through the same experience - we saw a sales letter, and got excited about how it offered us the world and more.
Today, however, approximately 15 years later, things have changed.
A customer sees 10 of these websites in a row, and standing out has become increasingly difficult.
Customers arrive at our site, know that we're pitching a product, because it looks just like the last 10 they've seen.
Many of us have trouble figuring out how to stand out, get customers to buy our products, or even stay on our site past the first headline.
Today, I've noticed we're going through an interesting transition.
Customers are generally no longer looking for products.
Back in 2000, when we were looking for a solution, we were looking for a product to solve our situation.
Today, the goal has changed:
The issue today isn't finding a product, it's finding too many products, and knowing who to trust, and who is the real deal.
Today, because of the saturation on the internet, we're not looking for a sales page - we're looking for the best INFORMATION and CONTENT.
We want to know before we purchase we're getting the best product.
What this means is, marketing is evolving into a place where we're being pushed to be better than everyone else, and the person with the best product wins.
In order to stand out, you need to offer quality content that is lightyears ahead of all your competitors.
If you truly have the best products, this is a surefire strategy for success, because when people see what your competitors have to offer, or if they just offer hype trying to sell their products, when they come to you, by comparison, they are blown away.
Once they know your products are the best, they remain loyal to you, because you're the only one they trust, and who has given them reason to trust them.
On top of this, you're constantly pushing yourself to be better and better at whatever you do, and consistently creating the best products, so you win, your customers win, your partners win, and you contribute something that genuinely makes life better for everyone.
The money will come naturally, it's our goal as marketers to focus on what we're contributing, creating the best products, and giving value that makes the world a better place to live for all of us.
When we die, and we look back on what we've done after we leave our bodies, what will mean the most...
If we say, "I made a million dollars, bought a big house, fast car, and went on vacations."
Or...
"I invented something that helped millions of people, and made their lives better because of my life, and made millions of dollars along the way by focusing on that."
One seems hollow and empty, while the other resonates with the core of who we are, and what we were put on this earth to do.
Focus on doing good, and good will be done onto you.
Just my thoughts lol. Thanks for reading guys!
