1.create a list of niches that you're interested in and you know something about
2.do keyword analysis to see how many people search for that and what is the competition like, what's the price of paid advertising for those keywords etc.
3.visit websites of affiliate networks like share a sale, CJ, impact radius, click bank to find good affiliate offers
4. register a domain for $0.99
5. get first month of hosting for $0.01
6. create a website based on a template (theme), it won't cost much. Connect with autoresponder so that you can build a list.
5. do on page SEO and start writing high quality blog posts or start investing in paid traffic


Another option is to start providing some services on freelancing websites but that's trading your time for money. So affiliate marketing is better.

But in our experience Siteground and Bluehost tend to be better. I would choose Siteground.

On the other hand, Wp Engine is suitable if you want very fast Wordpress hosting but it's much more expensive.

The truth is there are many techniques out there and they all work. However, they are not all created equals.

For example, I would not recommend a newbie to start with Affiliate marketing. Why? Because you have to get a lot of traffic, then you have to build a relationship with that traffic, then you have to convert that traffic...It takes a lot of time and effort. When you are just starting out you want to make money quickly to gain momentum.

Same thing with blogging. Lot's of people start blogs thinking they will make money quickly. It takes TIME. A lot of it.

This is why I'm glad I started with Kindle publishing. Amazon literally brings the traffic for you so you can make money really quickly and it is not expensive to get started. You can also build a back-end, build a list and do affiliate marketing (with amazon bringing the traffic for you...isn't that a smarter strategy?)

Amazon FBA is also really good, but you need more money to get started (at least $1000) and is a little bit more complicated.

The bottom line is choose your method wisely, then focus on it until you master it and you will succeed.

Oh, and try not to pay too much attention to people that are negative on this form. Internet marketing is hard and some people with thousands of posts became really mad over the years because they didn't make it. Hang out with successful people and ignore the noise.

That's the key to success in this business. Welcome on board.

It really shouldn't be that overwhelming. Just take your time and learn as you go. There are a lot of great, and free, resources online to help you if you get stuck along the way. Be VERY careful of the of people that try to sell you stuff on this forum as I'm sure you'll get a few PMs. Instead of trying to learn everything before you start, get started and learn it as you go. It will be much less overwhelming and seeing progress will keep you motivated.

Before SEO, PPC, email marketing, and so on even come in to play, you have to get your hands on a product. You can either create one or become an affiliate. The most common niches to enter are those with desperate buyers and those with problems that can be solved. You may find it easier to start with a niche you have experience with, but make sure that it's a niche that is profitable.

When you identify a niche, then you can get started with building your site.

Being clear on why you're doing IM is the difference maker. Some do it just for outcomes like making money, which ties you to that outcome. When you're not making money you lost your motivator. Desperation sets in.

But you are off to a good start buddy, wanting to make friends and patiently learn the in's and out's in a calm, clear fashion.

That's really it; if you can patiently move forward, learn, study, connect, share what you've learned, and build a heart-centered business, it shows you're in this game to have fun, to free yourself and to help folks along the way. And of course you'll succeed in due time.

I'm highly partial to blogging because it's a fab brand building tool that helps you to stand out from the crowd.Fabulous medium for expressing yourself creatively too. But you really cannot go wrong with any niche you feel passionate about because that's the beginning point of success.

Bluehost does not seem to take service seriously. Tried to hook up formmail (which they re-named to Bluemail and broke) for a client. When I contacted support they said they knew it was down but didn't know when it would be fixed. There are better ways now-a-days but that's a basic script that people depend on and it should have been fixed within 24 hours.

This Kindle strategy is interesting but far from easy. You have to be an expert or at least to really know a lot about some topics to write books and it takes a lot of time. It's easier to write blog posts.

Also, one ebook is not enough to have decent income. Writing 100+ books requires really enormous work. And what if english is not your first language etc.

In my opinion, it's better to start as a freelancer and then to build your website and continue with affiliate marketing or even cpa.

You may try with 1 kindle ebook to see how it goes, though.

Many newbies will start out with affiliate marketing. Just keep in mind that there is a big world outside the IM / MMO niche.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form to make money. So conversion rates are typically much higher than offers that require a purchase.

I have always favored PPL offer that have a make, get or save money angle/benefit to them. This is what has always worked well for me and tends to have the broadest mass appeal. So the potential exists to generate high volume.

There are many PPL offers that pay $20-$60 each (some higher depending on the vertical) that work well with a front-end campaigns. Offer that pay less and even some other type of offers such as Free signups, free trials and even some offers that are purchases, I will run on the back-end.

The key with all offers that I promote is I look for them to have mass appeal...will potentially appeal to a large section of the population, this makes them easier to promote to a general audience and cross promote the offers on the back-end.

Essentially, I'm targeting freebie seekers, which most marketers dread because they have to make sales in order to make money. Where most of the offers I promote are completely free, so I don't need to sell anything to anyone.

IM is just one marketplace among many thousands. I would suggest you focus on things other than IM . . . things that you have some expertise in . . . things that interest you . . . things that you can discuss with some authority. For you, the greatest opportunities lie outside IM since you say you have no expertise in IM right now.

Hi, Gliridian. I think, no one can answer this better than you yourself. Ask yourself this question, opt a niche, and then never look back:
What are the things you are expert at (or have some know-how)? Identify few, write them on a piece of paper. Select one in which you are most expert at, and check the market whether people are really looking for solutions you are about to offer? If you miss this step, you lose.

There are no magic wands. If you opt for something you love and keep pushing hard, you will earn your first buck in no time. Out of hundreds of IM things, pick one you like the most, focus on it only, achieve mastery and the MONEY WILL COME to you. Period.

You need to start with the niche that you are interested in for long term success in any field. Then you need to find low competition high demand sub or micro niches within that niche. Then you need to think through your plan as to whether you can build your own product or act as an affiliate or both. Research, test and scale up...

I do believe that the reason so many newbies want to start affiliate marketing in the IM/MMO space is the sheer number of IM/MMO products, especially those dealing with affiliate marketing, end with some variation of:

There you have it. You now know how to make a bazillion dollars a day while you're drinking on the beach in front of your mansion while your bikini model girlfriend washes your Lambo. If you really want to get a fast start, grab your own affiliate link for this proven product you just finished and get going...

When said newbie learns that the mansion, the Lambo and the bikini model girlfriend are all rentals and selling in this space is harder than it looks, they come to places like this and start posting about how all the systems are a scam. Or they buy $7 wonder products until they max out their credit cards and complain about sellers of "rehashed crap".

Okay, a lot of it IS crap, but a lot is also repetition of basic principles which don't change. But when you read the same basic principles for the 147th time, and it doesn't sink in, you have to blame someone...

You may not like my advice, but I will still give it.

Start off offering a service. Whatever skill you have (or can learn).

Building sites, writing, etc.

Learn from the people who hire you.

My first gig was writing 50 articles on hamsters. Through that gig (and the others I did for him) I learned about membership sites (because I was providing the content), keyword research, sales pages, funnels, etc.

Earn while you learn.

You should choose your NICHE, which niche you want to work. Learn more & more about the subject. There are many ways to do the Internet Marketing. You can choose in which way you will use. Then you can start working. Thanks for your advance.

OP, contrary to what all the "experts" suggest DO NOT start by selling your time for pennies.

DO NOT start by building a website and spending all your time and money trying to get Google to index it.

These are the long, slow, hard way with no guarantee you will ever make a dime.

You don't need to know everything to get started.

Start with simple things like creating a blog about something you are passion about. Making your first content and doing promotion will give you experience, step by step is the key, you can learn while doing it.

Once you have some traffic you can start doing some affiliate sales, building an email list, creating your own funnel, etc.

You don't need everything, start with the basic and make a blog with a niche you like. It doesn't really matter what kind of niche, anything is ok because you can find things to do or promote on any niche. Yes, someone could be better than other but those have lots of competition for obvious reasons while on the other hand, you can make insane results with the other niche who no one is doing.

Forget the IM niche, it's 87% junk being sold by scammers.

Target a niche you already know and understand.

1 Choose a niche: evergreen niche like weight loss, etc, a sub niche and check in keyword tool of Google, Audience Insight of Facebook if there are people looking for it, and check also on Clickbank / Udemy if there are products, courses to promote or sell.

2 Build an Opt In Page (choose Leadpages, it's simple and VERY powerful, it supports all the traffic and you dont need an hosting)

3 Choose an Autoresponder (choose ActiveCampaign, it supports automation and it's cheap), and build a funnel of emails for nurturing, provide content, and promote affiliate products too.

4 Choose a source of traffic: Fb Ads is simple and effective for newbies. It's also cheaper than google ads.

It is intentionally made "overwhelming" by those wanting to sell you product after product after product... FOREVER. Their one and only concern is selling you more "shiny objects." They could care less about your results....

One guy I know, like and trust is Eric Louviere. I would highly recommend grabbing his free book, The Best Damn Internet Marketing Book Ever Written. Read through it five to six times…. Forget about EVERYTHING else. Focus ONLY on Eric’s book. It will be an eye opener as to what you need to do next.

The best advice I can give you is to focus on email marketing and list building. Having your own list is the single biggest asset you'll have online.

I know exactly what you are going through. I floundered around for years buying this product, that WSO, this traffic guide. What did it get me? Frustrated! Overwhelmed! Confused!

What did I do? I got myself a coach. Athletes do it. Financial people do it. Most professions have a coach to guide you.

A word of caution - It may be difficult to find a good one. I would start by looking above at some of the answers that some of these fine warriors gave to you. Most were very good. Follow their posts and if one rings true with you, ask them if they have a coaching program and follow what they tell you.

It may not make sense some of the stuff they tell you but stick with it without looking to the left or right and it WILL make sense and you will start to make money.

I didn't read all the way down the thread, but something that I think will help, something that I wish I would have done sooner is pick one traffic source and become REALLY good at it. There are products launched every week that tell you to use a different traffic source or the latest trendy clever traffic tip. You can get lost in the woods really quick. If you take to heart all the advice on choosing a niche, there will probably be a traffic source that stands out when it comes to reaching out to the buyers in your niche. I would start on that traffic source and become an expert in it.

First nothing to sell here, and nothing to buy.

There is a SECRET, which I'm about to share. The secret?

GET fast results, make money in 30 days.

You can and will read scores of Warrior stories about how they chased shiny objects, bought WSO after WSO and spent years before the money flowed. I've always challenged their advice to newbs when they say it takes years of floundering and learning.

NO it doesn't.

Here is a 30 day plan to your first dollar and gaining the knowledge you build a foundation on. In an A-Z fashion.

A) Get a cheap website. Prefer you get one with a free domain for first year, and the DOMAIN NAME does NOT matter. Quit wasting time trying to come up with a domain. The host should have CPanel and Softaculous.

B) Get Dropbox. FREE.

C) Get mailchimp. FREE.

D) Watch videos in the CPanel on how to use it, mostly focus on the Files, where you can upload pics and use the WYSIWYG html editor. Forget abpout Wordpress for now, you can always install that later IF you decide to use it.

E) Get PayPal and/or stripe for payments.

Now, you have a place to post a PROMOTION and a way to accept payment.

Then you need something to sell and/or a Capture page to begin building a list of prospects. Use the free templates for now in Mailchimp to create a simple form, a sign up page. What are they signing up for?

Offer a free report, IF you have a subject and the fastest "niche" to choose from is from one in which you already participate and know about. Do you know golf, bowling, MMA, cooking, travel, writing...it really doesn't matter at this point. Something you know about or look at your most recent purchases, there could be your starting point.

The object is use 2 hours a day for 30 days to get started and to try to SELL SOMETHING. Recently fellow Warrior Barb Ling brought in over $4.000.00 dollars through her offer of a simple ONE PAGE report, she had a dime sale, I paid 3.77 for it and was/am a satisfied customer.

It shows you don't have to spend a lot of time to create something you can SELL. If you can't create a one page Hotsheet (cheatsheet), then look to PLR.

Tons of that offered here,find some plr in your niche, whatever it is, to use to either give away to capture names and or to sell.

Use your WF sig file to start promoting and maybe a classifed ad here or a WSO. IF you are going to sell to Warriors, get the Warrior Payment account.

Also, join as many FACEBOOK groups as you can regarding the niche. Also search social media you are involved in.

SEE, this process is one which gives you a FAST START, you focus on LEARNING the basic tools of IM

You need a PRODUCT to sell (and a service can be your product).
You need a PROMOTION, you have to create an Intersection where your
PROSPECT can meet you and learn about your offer.

Then, the secret sauce to the whole thing...TARGETED EYEBALLS.
TRAFFIC, but traffic with an interest in what you have.

You can buy traffic, use social media to try to generate traffic, use affiliate marketing to get and build traffic.

IF you begin with a simple PROCESS which has you focus on

Who is my ideal PROSPECT (people like me interested in cooking rabbits)
Who may want my PRODUCT (101 recipes for rabbit stew, first, catch the rabbit)
And who will find my PROMOTION via (ads, links, participation)

NOW you have the foundation of any and all future IM projects you do, without the flounder, the spinning of the wheels, the chasing of rainbows and unicorns, the making gurus richer...

A PROCESS which is repeatable and saves years of time IF you follow the Warriors who took years to be successful (because that is what they know)...

And one which puts RESULTS, cold hard cash in your hand in weeks not years.

Keep it simple, and you can probably do it all with that last 50 bux you have because you spent all your money chasing silliness and a greener pasture made green with horse manure...which you have already squished between your ever seeking toes.

Try a tested and proven process for 30 days to get a foundation built, then scale out from there.

Best advice is to build a list and focus on that for long term income. It's what I always recommend. But keep calm, everyone needs to start somewhere.

This is the reason why so many give up before seeing success.

All you need is something to sell and someone to sell it to.

A good start might be to learn Wordpress and affiliate marketing
Keep it simple and use Fiverr for things such as logos and graphics.

You must have some money to invest, it can't be done for nothing but can be done sensibly if you are careful.

You created an account two years ago, but still struggling with learning.
You problem has nothing to do with learning.

This is what comes to be known as a shiny object syndrome. Google it and try to get rid of it - stick to one thing, one strategy, one website.

I would read through and take notes and work out which advice you feel most comfortable and interested in following, then stick with it. I'm blessed because I was born in a time that all of these are possible thanks because of technology. We dissolve geography and able to communicate in the speed of thought. This is a lucky and abundant time for us.

That's why it would be a waste if we not become rich. I know it's not an excuse to be poor or to be in a third world country or English as not the primary language or that parents don't support or don't know anyone personally who does IM. Technology also dissolves all of that excuses. That's why I'll do everything to be rich and to share and to give value to the world. Because I know by being rich I can enrich others as well and what seems impossible before are now possible.

I'm starting to making sense of it all. In fact, I think I have a solid idea on how I'll do this. It is something that resonates to my personality and to what I believe I can offer to the world.

But I'm still starting it. I'll see, if this will be successful. I'll post my progress in the coming days, months, years here to help others as well. (Or maybe peppered on other threads as well)

But I'll post my every milestone once I've got all the parts figured out. I have an idea, but it is still forming that's why I can't post it yet here. But once I made even just a little success from it. I'll share it here.
