Business Name Ideas - Need help

Hey Everyone. First time poster but happy to find this site so I can kick around some basic business questions and ideas and get some feedback. I appreciate anyone that takes the time out to respond or give me input.. so thank you.

We run two small businesses here. Both are similar so we are looking to combine it under one main name. Our one business is a diaper service with a generic name and the other is a commercial laundry service with the name Green Clean Laundry Service. We would like to rename the diaper service so it is under the Green Clean name but our concern is about using the term Green in a name. Growing up, my family always thought Green meant more expensive and didn't work as well so I don't want to alienate people before they even try us. We offer much more than just green cleaning options but again, need to get them to call or go to the website to find out more without judging us. we like the way the name rolls off the tongue and have been using it for a few years on that side of operations with steady growth. Any thoughts on using the term Green in a title.

  • I would strongly recommend adding Business Name + Location.

For example Clean & Fold Atlanta or something along those lines.

As you'll get some SEO juice since it sounds like you're doing a local market play.

    • I strongly agree with Andrew, say for example:

Chicago+dental+service make more sense and you get extra leverage in search results .
    • RealGreenClean .com
      GreenCleanMachine
      CleanWithGreen
      EasyGreenCleanLaundry

Just thinking of some domain names for your out loud...
  • Kathy,

Sometimes simple is the best solution.

GCLADS (Green Clean Laundry and Diaper Service)

Yes, the name is a little long, but you said you wanted to get both services under one roof.

The best part . . . GCLADS.com is available right now at Godaddy for $2.99

I would use the full written name on your web site and communications and begin branding your business as GCLADS.com

    Just a suggestion, of course.

To me "Green Clean Laundry" is a place I can get my clothes cleaned using processes that won't harm the environment.

If that's what you do, I couldn't think of a better name.

    • We thought about having Green Clean Laundry Service as the main business. Then we would use wording like Green Clean Cloth Diaper Service, Green Clean Commercial Laundry Service, and Green Clean Residential Laundry Service. Those wouldn't be business names just wording we use. I guess my other question is how do we do the website. Just have a main page and then have the different logos on a page that takes you to other pages or I guess other pages. Just trying to figure out how this will all fit together. Hopefully Green Clean Laundry Service says more than just washing clothes. Right now we only do commercial and hope to add residential some day. would it work?
  • not enough information

what and who are you trying to identify with?

    affordable cleaning?

  • I like the name you are thinking about, but this always helps me when I get stuck on business/domain names...

  • Can't think of a name but can suggest a few creative approaches:
    1. About the stuff you do (some names have been suggested already)
2: About you the owner (your name, your preferences, favourite names)
3: About the place (either location names or history of)
4: About your customers (could suggest names like "serenade" or "deaf as bats")
    Good luck.
