Who Here has 1,000+ Twitter Followers?

I've been on Twitter for probably a year and a half. I have 9400 followers right now. Met a lot of nice people on there and some have become clients/customers or even friends.

I simply don't see the point of spending time in Twitter or trying to increase the amount of Twitter followers.... why spend time with social media when at the end of the day, organic traffic converts always better. Just my 2 cents.

As of a few minutes ago, 5,468.

I got started by just following people I knew, but expanded quickly. Haven't been aggressively adding people for a while, but it seems to grow a bit every day.

I think I got on Twitter in Dec., 2007.

Started account in August 2008 - really started using it several months later.

I do. Not tweeting so long. Most of the followers on said account are internet marketers spamming to each other

around 4000 total across 4 accounts.
haven't properly tweeted in months,still gaining followers . Gain some lose some.

Got about 1,500. Starting to see a little trickle of traffic from twitter but not much.

Thank God, I just passed by 4K+ 1 day ago. Lots of effort but it is happy tweeting all the way

I have 25,000 - I got them all using the Hot Twitter Spy software that I developed. On another account following 1 weeks work I had 2000 followers.

I actively tweeted for 5 days and spent about 45 min a day each of those 5 days following new peeps. I have 950 followers. I haven't been active since those 5 days, as I was more doing as an experiment.

I have been using a twitter train with good results.

I've got a little over 3,500 at this point. I opened the account in Nov, 08 but didn't really start using it until Feb/March of this year.

two of my accounts do, my personal account doesnt though. I reserve that for business networking and friends.


Business accounts took just over a month to get 1354 and 1440.

I gave up promoting my twitters hard core at that point because I wasn't seeing that much of a benefit from it, but I still tweet and get more followers from retweets.

I have 3272 following me right now. I've been tweeting for about 6 months, but I've never really been consistent. That's definitely something that I need to keep up regularly.

Another interesting thing I've realized is that with those 3000+ followers, I only average about 10 clicks on any links that I tweet. I'm not too sure if that's a good ratio (followers to clicks), but it has definitely increased since the past. So I guess it's starting to work!

Started Summer 2008 and have hit around 5k on twitter.

Giving serious thought to purging the list though. I hardly ever go on it anymore. Anything I say just gets lost in the noise.

I had about 12000 and I felt I had way too much spam on my timeline. I did a massive clean-up, got rid of all the losers, bots, porn peddlers, brought down the number to 7600, hoping that my tweets would get a better response rate, tracking with bit.ly.

Results? Didn't change a single thing! I wasted enormous time doing that clean-up.

7600 supposedly targeted followers from IM enthusiasts, mlm'ers, etc, all gathered manually, never used a special software like Hummingbird.

Even though I NEVER EVER spammed any affiliate links and always tweeted interesting links and content, related and unrelated to IM, talked with people back and forth, never ever pushed my opportunity with them, the response rate still remained useless, didn't help my business numbers.

The most clicks I had from tweeting content was 30 out of then 12000!!! 30??? Are you kidding me?

Twitter? Psh, please.

Wow ... most of you got more than 1K followers ... not really ultilise this tool and get the benefits.

I'm trying to build myself up to that level and beyond. I just got started in twitter and I have almost 400 followers.

I have a few accounts that have 1-2K+. I'm not active on any though, it was just an experiment when Twitter came out to find methods of getting followers, and it was going to end up being a money-making venture at some point... but never got past the planning stage.

There was way too much negativity with Twitter and marketing back then, and now I'm afraid I'm too late.

P.S. Each account has targeted followers (for the most part, some non-targeted slip in by spam following) in different "desperate" niches.

I started another new account a day ago. I have 1000 plus followers. I think it is all about the software and twitter applications that you used to help you to auto tweet and auto follow people. For eg, twollo, tweetlater, twitrobot etc... This are good applications that can help you...

I've got 1,900 followers. I've been on twitter for about 1 year.

I have been tweeting infrequently. I don't go out of my way to get followers. Many seem to just appear. I do follow people that I think are interesting.

I usually follow anyone that follows me.

I have over 19000 twitter followers my username is extremelyrich just lately I have not been tweeting massively however when I tweeted a couple of times per hour and was more informative with the occasional sales page link the results did come, but as usual I would say dont put all your eggs in the one basket

I've recently joined twitter and my last count for half a month was 200+ followers, not bad for my first month, hope to grow my followers at the same time increase traffic to my blog and other sites that I were optimizing.

I have 3 twitter accounts: 1 with 4000plus followers in 1 month, 2 with 1000plus followers in a day.

My 2 cents, the number of followers is not the main factor that makes you money. It is the quality of your tweet that matters. There are some techniques that you need to learn to improve your tweets quality.

Eg:
-the 7 to 1, magic ration

-the fairy Godmother method

-the telephatic mind reading method

1,753 followers for my forex account since May

My friend Holly Mann, writer of Honest Riches, for IMs, has I believe around 3,500 and gets 10% of her traffic from Twitter. So there is no doubt people are not only driving traffic, but also monetising.

Wobetide any of us that ignore or castegate Web 2.0 in all its guises.

Twitter is all about numbers and getting people by following so many that you numbers go up because some auto follow you. If you do that you end up with thousands of irrelevant promotional messages and links.

Twitter is all about relationships.

Do you think that if Oprah tweets no-one responds? Of course they will - they love her.

If you're not already well-known for something you can't expect to just collect random people and be able to make them take action.

If you went into a supermarket and shouted promotional messages at people - you think they would care?

But if you went to each of them one and a time and found out who they are and what they want - you could eventually build a relationship with everyone in there - THEN if you spoke about what you could do for them, they'd be more likely to respond.

So:

1 - You can't treat it like a 'numbers game' and expect maximum results.

2 - You can't build a relationship immediately or automatically.

If you ignore both of those comments - you can still make money, just nothing like what you could.

To be able to improve your tweet quality, you might want to practice 7 to 1, magic ratio strategy.

It is all about giving tips and valued information in your 1st 6 tweets and sell at your 7th tweet. By following this simple steps, you can easily improve your conversion rate.

Getting followers is just easy. Go and get some auto follow software and you might be able to get 1000 followers in a day... But to monetize it, you need to spend sometime to engage the followers.

I have 4100 members in 2 months. You might consider to create more accounts to get more followers. If you have different interest, you might want to try this out.

I have only one account which has currently 1651 followers. I'm a member for a long time but don't tweet a lot (5700 and odd tweets for around 15 months or so is not that many, right?)

I have over 7k followers. Been at it for several months.

In order to get a good leads from organic traffic, we need to put a lot of effort to make it rank high in search engine.. Is there any quick way to get social media traffic converted?

I have 1k followers, and about 500 on facebook and get at least 4 times the hits from facebook. Honestly for the effort and time I don't think twitter is worth it. Email is the best, then facebook. Think twitter helps with seo getting your articles or website out there, but as far as trying to get traffic from the twitter followers think it is a waste of time for what you get for what you put in.

I'm sure more marketers are making money selling twitter courses than actually using twitter. If you notice most of the big name marketers are not twittering as much as they used to.

over 5k and since 07' I had the acct open. I was not very active until 4th qtr of 08' though.

I've got a few thousand, but all mine are IM's and completely worthless. Nothing but spam and no one ever responds to my super witty and interesting tweets.

I do but remember its the quality of follower not the quantity.

I have a couple of accounts with over 1000 followers, it has taken about 6 months to get them.

Yes, none are paid either or bots (at least I don't think). 20,000 They were gained by the "follow method" but I'm sure you could get more by tweeting/retweeting regularly. As far as conversion, these followers are in it for follow backs, so most likely not interested. I have noticed if I tweet or retweet something that people are searching within Twitter it can generate some traffic.

I have 6,000+ but I have not been really using Twitter.

Got over 10,000..god knows how and none of them any damn use - guess I must take it seriously some time?

To be honest, I have 0 followers, but I just opened my account yesterday

5500+ and getting more responsive lately. I have been focusing on a few posts that really attempt to get involved with my followers as well as the normal daily syndication of content on my blogs, articles and interaction with other social networks -- the extra interest posts seem to be really working to get discussions going. Slowly, I find I am pulling more traffic from Twitter as well...still not massive, but what traffic I do pull seem to be very qualified.
